CYBER SECURITY AND NETWORK ANALYST

JOB OVERVIEW

The Cyber Security Analyst is responsible for analyzing system and network security issues to ensure that no situation will jeopardize the security of the systems and network. The incumbent will test controls and monitor the network. He or she will have to assess vulnerabilities and perform application tests. He or she will have to develop contingency plans for security events and train personnel on security procedures. In addition to security responsibilities, this role includes an operational component at the network equipment level.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify, assess or remediate threats to the security and integrity of corporate systems, networks and data.
• Perform security impact analysis on change requests;
• Make recommendations and implement security hardening (CIS).
• In collaboration with network and system administrators, develop and execute security controls and ensure their applications (audits).
• Review security event logs.
• Identify, evaluate and recommend remediation measures for security events.
• Participate in the response to security incidents through technical analysis
• Develop, test and maintain response plans for security events.
• Develop corporate awareness of computer security by providing orientation, educational programs, and ongoing communication to all levels of staff.
• Train IT staff on network and information security procedures;
• Facilitate and coordinate security advisory groups to follow up on all necessary security updates and preventive measures in place;

REQUIREMENTS

• More than 5 years of technical experience with at least 3 years in a security environment
• CISCO certification (CCNA or similar) (asset)
• Experience with HP/Aruba wireless network (asset)
• Experience with infrastructure and network tools;
• Experience in vulnerability analysis (Nessus);
• Experience with Microsoft Active Directory (2012/2016)
• Experience with WAF F5 (an asset)
• Experience in risk assessment (an asset)
• Experience with ISO 27001 certification (asset)
• SPLUNK experience (asset)
• Knowledge of systems management disciplines such as security architecture, disaster recovery, and user support operations.
• Knowledge of the nature and sources of network security threats and the methods / techniques for developing solutions;
• Knowledge of industry standards for network security and operational procedures;
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills - ability to deal effectively and diplomatically with a wide variety of people;
• Ability to present effectively before a wide range of audiences, maintain confidentiality, and document related computer procedures;

WORKING CONDITIONS

• The incumbent will work in an office environment; *Due to COVID-19, work from home until further notice*.
• Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; be prepared to work beyond regular hours on occasion according to business needs.
