Job Location: Stuttgart, Germany

Security Clearance: Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance is required

Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.


Trace Systems is actively recruiting for an experienced Network Engineer to join our team on-site at DISA-EUR Stuttgart – Vaihingen, Germany. The ideal candidate shall support mission critical requirements to provide a unified approach to operating and assuring managed elements of the Department of Defense Information Environment.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership in the planning, investigation, design, and implementation of physical and logical communications solutions having network-wide impact
  • Provide solutions that incorporate integration of digital encoding formats, line codes, and timing concepts across engineering disciplines and environments
  • Influence team members, the customer, and vendors to define, analyze, and provide solutions for the customer’s voice, data, and image communications requirements
  • Prepare complex workprints and schematics to define and illustrate entire network structures and solutions
  • Identify and recommend new design tools for use in communications projects
  • Evaluate projected corporate network usage and provide and implement media solutions
  • Participate in and influence marketing proposals and studies by providing costing models, reports, and technical solutions for network-wide projects
  • Identify product modifications and influence vendors to incorporate these changes into their products
  • Plan, design, and implement network management systems to monitor, diagnose, control, and measure performance of multiple communication networks
  • Identify, analyze, and recommend new network administrative systems for entire networks to ensure accurate network inventory and timely implementation

  • Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Sciences in a technical discipline
  • At least 10 years of experience in a technical discipline with 4 years specialized experience
  • DoD 8570.01 IAT level II certification (e.g. CompTIA Security+CE, CISSP, ISSEP, etc.)
  • Documentation oriented with good organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication across all levels of seniority and the customer base
  • Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance is required
  • Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required
  • Must be able to obtain certification as a Technical Expert by the German Government under the Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) process


  • A Bachelor Degree in Art OR Science in a technical discipline is required
