Through Connect, DXC deliver world class Village Entertainment System products, services and support to its icon branded mining, oil and gas customer base. This is a Perth based role, joining the team in both project and support activities working in complex mixed vendor technology environments.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage tickets in the support queue.
  • Troubleshooting and resolution of incidents and problems of all components of the VES system, including head-end, network and in-room equipment.
  • Liaising with Vendors and remote support technicians as required.
  • Undertaking routine Preventative Maintenance as scheduled.
  • Identifying and implementing improvement initiatives that enhance the quality and efficiency of systems and services.
  • Accurately diagnose faults relating to VES systems.
  • Proactively progress tickets until resolution in line with agreed SLAs.
  • Resolve technical issues and queries within agreed timeframes.
  • Upkeep of system documentation.

Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 2+ years in a similar technical role.
  • Strong customer-facing skills and presentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong Problem-Solving skills.
  • Relevant experience in the following technologies:
  • TCP/IP Networking – e.g. Switching, routing
  • Wireless technology
  • Network Monitoring
  • Fibre Optic and Ethernet cabling

Desirable (although not essential)

  • Relevant experience in the following technologies:
  • Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) technologies
  • Power Systems/UPS
  • Free to air and Foxtel Television
  • Coaxial RF cabling
  • Satellite communications
  • Virtualization – e.g. Citrix, VMWare
  • Linux Systems Administration and scripting
  • Unified Communication
  • CCNA or equivalent (highly desirable)
  • Current open cabling registration (highly desirable)

  • Following safe work practices
  • Utilizing protective equipment where required
  • Notifying management of hazards, accidents, incidents and near-misses that occur or have the potential to occur in the workplace
  • Co-operating with management, committee representatives, and any other relevant parties with regards to health and safety
  • Passing Drug and Alcohol Tests where required to access customer sites.

There will be some travel involved in this role – however it is not a FIFO position.
