New Graduate - Engineering
This is a unique role for a new graduate to join the BWXT NEC engineering team into a 3-year rotational program that would expose the successful candidate to multiple roles in our Peterborough location. This rotation program would include 3-4 engineering assignments including roles in Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Project Management. These assignments would depend on the candidate’s skill set, desire, and company business demands. At the completion of the rotation program the individual would be placed full time into the Instrumentation and Control Engineering group.

At BWXT NEC, you will work on technically challenging projects as a member of the Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions. You will be responsible for the design/manufacture/support of equipment for CANDU reactors. Projects will involve you in the design, development, manufacture and test of equipment for automated and semi-automated fuelling machines, robotic systems, maintenance tooling, and Balance of Plant systems for CANDU reactors and related systems. There is also opportunity to work on site assignment at one of the nuclear power plants in Ontario.

Job Responsibilities Once in Final Role:
+ Execution of design/analysis/test/commissioning of complex equipment and systems.
+ Review and/or approve elementary/schematics, electrical assembly drawings, single line diagrams, equipment specifications, technical documents, and applicable codes and standards.
+ Liaise with customer design, operations, and maintenance personnel to gather site-specific design information. Execute walk-downs of various equipment in the plant.
+ Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.
+ Ensure designs comply with applicable company, technical, and regulatory standards.
+ Support the development and estimating of engineering proposals.
Job Qualifications and Requirements:
+ New graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in either Electrical, Mechatronics, Instrumentation and Control, Computer, or Software Engineering discipline (or equivalent) with exemplary academic achievement.
+ Co-op or internship experience.
+ Excellent writing and communication skills.
+ Competence in design and design processes.
+ Creative problem-solving skills, outstanding analytical abilities, demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
+ CAD 3D modeling and design for manufacturability.
+ Flexibility to work remotely on short-term customer site assignment.
