Reporting to the Director or designate, the Nurse Informaticist leads and promotes the integration of computer and communications technologies and clinical change initiatives that automate and/or enhance evidence-based clinical practices, access to patient/client information and clinical documentation via the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in collaboration with clinical operational leaders, service, program, staff and physicians
As an integral regional member of a multi-disciplinary team, the Nurse Informaticist works to develop and redesign workflow and processes to improve the overall effectiveness, efficiency of Island Health.
Graduation from a recognized nursing program or evidence of an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant. Three years' recent related experience in a health care environment, including experience using related computer technology, clinical informatics, clinical change management, and/or project leadership.
