Position Summary

The translation and deployment of nutrition science and knowledge to guide product innovation and renovation and consumer relevant communication.

Apply findings of research, dietary guidelines, relevant population trends, nutritional needs and wants into innovations of nutrition products & digital initiatives; drive continuous improvement of Nestle products  by applying product nutrient profiles and quality criteria in content of population diet,  guide products nutrition and health benefits, credible brand communications and stories.  Transfer knowledge among peers and business stakeholders. A day in the life of...

  • The Nutrition Business partner (co-pilot) for guiding assigned product category(ies) I&R and brand nutrition communication by translating complex nutrition science and people nutritional needs.                             
  • Inspire nutrition, dietary & dietetics dimensions into business category strategy. Leads the interpretation/evaluation of available knowledge and nutrition science to guide business partners and product developers.                              
  • Delegates the provision of credible & timely technical assistance, nutrition  guidance for business / product category under responsibility.  Provide technical assistance on complex nutrition requests or transversally across various businesses. Ensures knowledge transfer to junior nutritionists and market Application Group.                       
  • Lead, supervises and guides  nutrition dimension  in the new market driven product development at early stage and with continuous inputs along the E2E process.
  • Lead the definition of desired nutritional profile for target population.                 
  • Ensures and supervises the guidance of products NHW messaging and claims on the label and beyond.  Guide on translation of science into Consumer Communication and product labelling, validate relevant easy-to-understand nutrition communication messages for all appropriate touch points: on pack, digital , POS ,etc.
  • Drives the substantiation behind nutrition or health claims development.  Deploy NHW claims positively evaluated by scientific authorities and /or by Nestlé Health Claim Panel in line with business and brand strategy, guide claims within I/R process
  • Leads and often accountable on market products/portfolio NHW  KPIs deliverables. Responsible or in some cases accountable for market NHW data quality & compilation across business categories.                   
  • External KOL/ authorities engagement

What will make you successful

'-Recognized professional and subject matter expert in job area typically obtained through University Degree  ( Master or  PhD Degree in in Nutrition/Dietetics , Life science, food science and technology with nutrition specialization) and practical job knowledge with 5-8 + years of work experience in academia, industry and/or public health nutrition organizations. Has deep understanding of facts, policies and practices related to job area and is recognized as subject matter specialist in job area.
- Manages large, and more complex initiatives, projects or processes in their area of expertise with no or limited oversight from a line manager. Consulted within own market/center in their area of nutrition expertise /specialty domain. 
- Develops and implements new products, processes, operational plans to shape the category and/or cross-category portfolio that will have impact at the center/market  area. 
- Develop data, documents (DDD) & notes. Can present at industry event or business/market specific scientific events. 
- Coaches, reviews and delegates work to lower level professionals. May have functional people responsibility. Provide valued expertise to various projects and networks ( internally). Train others on nutrition.
- Have a good understanding of trends, gaps and issues in the area of the specialty. Understand business priorities.  Play a role in setting  and reviewing S&T roadmaps and their implementation.  Able to translate trends and gaps in into science or product portfolio competitive solutions.
- Influence through explanation of facts, policies and practices. Make impact on others within the job area/ expertise/at the level of the center/market/business/project.  Demonstrate ability to connect externally in the area of expertise.  
- Problems solved are difficult and often complex, demonstrate solid problem solving in their area of expertise.
