Purpose of the job
The OEM Manager (m/f/d) is accountable for capturing insights on the future needs of the Gas Compression Lubricant Market and for translating them into potential technical solutions. She/he is the technical liaison to OEMs and proactively positions Lubrizol’s Compression Lubricant business for future growth by building the innovation pipeline with actionable ideas of defined value.
The role will be home office based in Europe – preferably Germany or France.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Build strong relationships and deliver technical support to OEMs in the Gas Compression Lubricant Market.
Acquire knowledge of future OEM hardware and oil specification changes and identify core potential opportunities for growth/differentiation.
Assess and balance short and longer vision opportunities as brought forward in sales opportunities, technical support of existing products and new product development.
Work closely with Sales and Product Management on prioritizing the projects and provide customer updates on Lubrizol’s innovation initiatives.
Engage the global Sales team in assisting in the development of new customer and industry contacts and mining new growth opportunities.
Work with refrigeration and industrial business leadership to identify and prioritize key OEM’s for each market segment; assuring that the OEM activities are aligned with business strategies.
Actively represent Lubrizol in industry forums, committees and trade associations.
Publish articles and / or make formal commercial presentations at OEMs, industry meetings and professional forums.
Gather market intelligence and build relationships with other internal divisions and external groups (especially industry groups, OEMs and customers).
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical, scientific or engineering discipline such as Chemistry, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
A minimum of 3-5 years OEM liaison experience, mechanical testing, commercial segments, or similar disciplines preferred
Knowledge of the compressor lubricants market space would be a plus
Experience in active participation in the development of business plans
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and travel as appropriate
Strength in relationship building
Excellent communication skills with a background in giving oral and written presentations to customers and industry groups
Fluent in English and preferably German. French or another European language would be a plus.
