Austal is currently recruiting a Full Time Office Administrator for our Cairns office. Reporting to the Senior Administration Officer, the Office Administrator will provide timely and accurate administrative and office management support to the Austal Cairns Office as required, and actively seek solutions to problems before being asked or directed.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • General administrative duties including recording and typing of meeting minutes, scanning documents, sourcing support documentation, filing, stationary orders, issue and follow-up of paperwork etc.
  • Administration of company induction and training
  • Entering jobs onto register and into Pronto as required and facilitate all associated paperwork
  • Processing and Filing of maintenance service reports and data within Service Department folders
  • Provide financial requisitions support, obtaining and processing quotations to support vessel maintenance and Cairns Office requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • Minimum Certificate Level 2 – Business Office Administration and/or relevant experience working in an administrative role (desirable)
  • A sound knowledge of the Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interact and communicate positively and professionally, both verbally and written
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines whilst managing multiple tasks
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven high quality output
  • The ability to recognise and initiate improvements within the department
