First Quantum (Ravensthorpe Nickel Operation - RNO) is currently searching for experienced Emergency Officer to join our team.
This role is offered on a FIFO 8/6 roster. We will also provide relocation services should you want to move to Albany or Esperance where you can catch the FQM bus to work every week. Alternatively you can relocate to live in company housing residential in Hopetoun.

It is also in one of the world’s most beautiful areas, with the Fitzgerald River National Park, 12 Mile Beach and the picturesque historic town of Hopetoun in close proximity to the mine site.
Provision of clinical assessment of patients, provision of treatment and subsequent advice and follow-up for ongoing injury management.
Working with Injury Management to return workers to work, and ensure follow ups across all swings
Ensuring that all emergency rescue and medical diagnostic equipment is maintained to the current high standard, including regular inspections, the maintenance of service records, and asset registers.
Timely responses to emergency situations, including activating the ERT and notifying the ICT.
Provide expertise and subject matter experience with regards to the development of RNO Emergency Preparedness Procedures & Protocols, including the preparation of individual risk based assessment of ‘worst case scenarios’.
Deliver site & local area evacuation training to all personnel, as well as specific training for responsible area wardens and RNO Security.
Providing technical / practical support and services where required.
Liaising with the workforce on Emergency Response related matters to provide advice and support.
Undertake personnel testing including FFW drug and alcohol screening and PPE fit testing.
Deliver site training in regards to emergency response and safety and health.
Control of site access and authorisation utilising Cardax and PDS logistics systems.
Controlling, recording and inspection of vehicles accessing and egressing site.
Escorting and monitoring of heavy transportation vehicles on site.
Conducting vehicle and bag inspections to restrict entry of, or theft of, or unauthorised removal of property or goods.
Participate in crisis management in the event of an incident.
Support and assistance of ERT members in the event of an incident.
Monitoring of warehouse entry and exits, as well as conducting of welfare checks.
Conduct internal and external plant, camp, perimeter, quarry and Masons Bay patrols and report any breaches or damage.
Deliver and coordinate visitor passes and inductions.
Monitor security CCTV devices
Monitor fire and door alarms.
Monitor site key register.
Control and operate external and internal communication.
Control and monitor lost property as required.
Monitor site radio channel and respond to emergency calls.
Log and monitor site journey management plans.
Issue and control return of PPE at main gate house.
Conduct regular cleaning of gate houses, vehicles, equipment and facilities.
Complete any and all security related statements and reports as required.
Carry out accommodation terminations as required.
Attend pre start meetings.
Conduct prestart inspections of Emergency Services vehicles and equipment
When requested assume the duties of an Acting Senior Security Officer.
Perform all other reasonable duties as required by the client or senior staff.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Cert 3 Mines Rescue or Public Safety with at least 2+ years experience in a similar capacity
Cert IV Healthcare (Ambulance) or above with at least 2+ years experience in a clinical or emergency capacity
Drug & Alcohol Testing Certification
Current minimum HR B license
Strong communication skills
Demonstrated results from working collaboratively in a team environment
INX experience, InControl, InFlight or InTuition
Mental Health First Aid qualification
Safety Officer Qualification with at least 2+ years experience in a similar capacity
Cert 4 Training and Assessment
Drive under emergency conditions qualification
Current or previous Security qualifications and experience
Surface Ventilation Officer with DMIRS
Testing and Tagging of Fire Fighting Equipment
Exposure to large minerals processing and mining environments
