The role

As a Platform Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, scaling, and optimising the code that powers Open’s APIs. You’ll also be responsible for Open’s integration with other platforms and solutions. You’ll need a strong technical prowess with incredible coding ability anchored in Python and open source technologies. You’ll need at least some exposure to Django. You will thrive in a hard-working and fun-loving environment, as part of a team that loves to work together to solve complex problems for our Huddles/Opens.

What you’ll do

• Break down tough problems into simple, elegant solutions
• Understand system interdependencies and limitations in architecture
• Implement solutions that meet performance, scalability, reliability and high availability
• Help us to embed agile software development best practices.

Ideally you would be someone who has

• Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 4+ years of software development experience
• Experience building public-facing APIs and associated authentication mechanisms
• Experience building scalable, high performance systems that are highly available
