Overview Open Banking is a worldwide phenomenon, that has been accelerating in many markets driven by the commercial opportunities it presents for banks and Fintechs. Mastercard has built an initial suite of Open Banking Solutions and is now in the process of bringing them to market, commercializing and enhancing them. Of recent we have acquired Finicity that will help advance our overall strategy in the US and other key markets including Australia. This new role is pivotal in enabling Mastercard to establish an open banking presence in Australia. This individual will work closely with, and where appropriate influence/persuade: • Technical experts focusing on scoping the technology aspect of the open banking rollout • IMK business development function, to build understanding of the needs of local key customers (banks as well as fintechs, merchants and others), as well as to commence early stage deployment conversations • Corporate Development and Procurement personnel if the local deployment requires use of external supplier(s) • Data & Strategy leads, to jointly drive the data requirements behind local products and services • Technology teams that will drive product localisation, as well as Customer Delivery and Legal on setting up new relevant onboarding processes and contracts Responsibilities · Sets the vision and direction for the platform design of assigned products · Leads a global team of individual contributors and potentially first level managers who are conceptualizing the one-to-two year view of how the platform product portfolio solves business and customer needs · Collects and shares user stories with engineering teams · Work with third party companies throughout the sourcing, contracting and deployment phase to drive regional execution of our strategy · Actively engage potential customers and partners within the region, and drive the process of reflecting their needs in the local deployment of the relevant open banking products · Exhibits expertise across multiple platform products and builds tight connections to resources to drive overall strategy and teams inside your organization while influencing those outside your organization to deliver the expected results · Dives deep into the work of your team and identify short-and-medium-term risks to platform product development and segment adoption, while proposing solutions to address them · Continuously monitors feature development and associated defects at the platform product level as well as runtime operational metrics for in market capabilities · Makes trade-off decisions on multiple platform products in a portfolio · Contributes to organizational planning · Manage escalations, assess the alternative to resolve (path to green) and builds a plan for resolution · Own and deliver on post-launch reviews and customer feedback, drives the associated actions, and incorporates feedback into the future launch plans · Shares best practice with other Mastercard teams · Engages with business customers to identify key platform product issues; solicits feedback on platform product roadmap · Leverages data analysis skills to research difficult or ambiguous problems, leading cross-disciplinary teams where necessary and communicating recommendations to senior leadership · Oversees team-wide product operations, leads junior PM-Ts who may own individual components, and coordinates team-wide improvement goals · Represents Mastercard with external stakeholders for escalations and during strategic roadmap discussions · Drives adoption of existing platform products into multiple marketplaces (in some cases simultaneously) with minimal engagement from leadership · Provides regular coaching and feedback to direct reports to help grow individual functional skills and leadership capabilities, with support from senior managers · Sets goals for individuals to achieve department or function level goals All About You: · Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively · Strong attention to detail · Excellent in communication skills · Analytical thinker and excellent in problem solving · Professional/ product experience in financial services, cards, payments or another related field a plus · Demonstrated track record of planning, managing and closing complex, competitive sales effort and project management · Suitable candidates will bring experience in creating interactive client prototypes, designing new payment flows for customers · A proven track record of developing or selling solutions that increase revenue is a plus · Ability to manage and grow internal and external cross functional relationships and partnerships · Can deliver high quality technology products/services in a high growth environment where priorities shift rapidly · Proven track record of data driven decision making and applying continuous improvement methodologies across teams · Comprehensive experience in agile delivery methodologies (scrum, Kanban, etc.) and CI/CD · Excellent communication skills · Deep understanding of API standards (REST, JSON, XML) · Demonstrated experience building relationships, partnering with and influencing executive leadership while commanding the respect of the individual engineers across the organization · Deep understanding of the platform, the integration patterns, the organizational capabilities, and the company wide assets that can be leveraged to provide technical solutions to customer problems · Demonstrates an understanding of our performance and leadership bar and effectively applies it to hiring decisions · Demonstrated experience as people manager with the ability to attract, recruit, and develop technical talent · Experience in Open Banking and/or federated identity technologies will be a plus
