The Opportunity

We currently have an exciting position available for suitably experienced Operations Leader to join our busy catering unit in Sydney (dCAT) on a full-time basis, producing consistent, high quality culinary items.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the management of all of the Day of Operations activities for the functions within their responsibility, Flight Assembly, Consolidation and Food Production.
  • Responsible for managing the performance of the team and provide effective development and on-the-job training and coaching to ensure optimum levels of team and individual performance.
  • Accountable for the coordination, supervision and efficient utilisation of multiple teams to provide catering services to all Domestic and International Customers.
  • Oversees the activities of the areas to ensure all flights are serviced according to MPS, meets the customers SLA’s and achieves the PTS requirements.
  • Provides support as required to assist in the management of daily operational variances and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Represents the department at an operational level and ensure that all contact points with other departments are managed efficiently to ensure information, material and equipment arrives in a timely manner.
  • Provides relief for the other areas of the business.
  • Forecasts, plans and manages the labour requirements of the departments within their responsibility to ensure financial KPI's and Customer expectations are met.
  • Regularly reviews the roster looking for efficiencies and make recommendations for changes when identified.
  • Provides operational reporting as required, identifies and puts forward business improvement ideas or opportunities that improve process, procedures and financial performance of the Departments.
  • Ensures compliance with Safety standards and complete Incident Investigations, Safety Observations and Safety reporting as required. Ensures all Workers Compensation requirements are met.
  • Responsible for ensuring all Safety, Security, Customs, Quarantine, GMP and Food Safety standards are compliant with the regulated requirements and company policy requirements are also met.

Selection Criteria

  • A passion for food, culinary excellence and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Minimum qualifications of HSC/Equivalent or above.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven supervisory and leadership experience, preferably gained with a large multi-skilled based workforce.
  • Intermediate knowledge of group human resources policies and procedures.
  • Proven interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Shift management experience in Food Manufacturing, Supply Chain and/or Logistics environment.
  • Advanced level literacy with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Highest standards of personal presentation and professional conduct.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence and a continuous improvement philosophy.
