About the Role


First Circle is looking for a Risk Operations Manager who will work with Operations, Data & Product to create scalable service design solutions that enable us to deliver a high growth product that our customers love. Leading the work in the Risk Management Department to form processes that bring underwriting policy to life in line with building and populating a scalable SOP system integrated with entire firm.


Performance Objectives


To achieve this, the successful candidate will be responsible in leading the RiskOps team with in tasks related to:


  • Optimising the following KPIs:
    • Application processing SLAs across onboarding and financing
    • Unit cost of onboarding and financing
    • Repayment rates
    • Fraud rates
    • Team development (as measured by career development and healthy attrition)
  • Contributing to policy formation, which influences and manages budget and resource allocation of the RiskOps team
  • Developing skills of the team so that they can take on additional scope and responsibility on a 6-12 month time frame
  • Analysing and reporting on performance to leadership and colleagues to assess strategic progress and trajectory

About You


  • 3-5+ years professional experience
  • Team management KPI/outcome ownership with evidence of material improvement
  • Proven experience in scaling aspects of business
  • Highly analytical and comfortable working with quantitative and qualitative info
  • Comfort in fast moving environments where change and trade-off optimisation is welcomed as opposed to feared
  • Preferred: Experience of working in or near product development
  • Preferred: Experience of working in or near risk processes
