CLOUD OPERATIONS MANAGER
SAP is seeking Cloud Operations manager to join HCM Cloud Platform Services Team. Based out Bangalore, You will have an integral part in the operations of products and services into our 15 Global Production Data centres and ensuring superior service delivery to our customers.
The person applying for this role is expected to perform leadership activities, lead and Guide the teams which do production operations support. You must lead to troubleshoot technical issues related to all aspects of the infrastructure (Network, Storage, F5, Apache web server, Java/Ruby applications, and database skills are a plus. This individual will be expected to proactively analyse our environments (for risks to stability, performance, & capacity), and provide recommendations to meet current and future growth. They must be able to work in a fast paced, high demanding environment, and be team oriented.
Required Job Qualifications:
• Lead 24x7x365 infrastructure operations team providing platform, network, and monitoring services supporting SaaS and hosted customers, ensuring 99.99% up time.
• Define KPIs and success metrics for individual teams.
• Provide mentor ship and guidance to internal operations staff regarding security, identity, compliance, and risk management best practices to build a secure infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve OS and infrastructure issues. These can be internal connectivity issues within private network or connectivity issues with Customer systems, Issue with cloud services and follow up with cloud providers on resolution status Issues with any provisioned workloads (memory, CPU, storage, etc..) and troubleshoot the cause for the same along with resolving any issue with it.
• Work with project teams, QA team, customers to troubleshoot system level performance and connectivity issues.
• Create and share Operational requirements, provide guidance and deployment options to internal teams on infrastructure creation and network connectivity integration.
• Work with the leadership teams to enhance overall operational efficiencies
• Drive and manage Infrastructure projects along with operations. Report progress/blockers to the management and coordinate with other teams to meet the deadlines
• Excellent experience with JIRA and ServiceNow. Should be able to create dashboards, reports for management on both the tools
• Ensure SLA s are met on time
• Should have prior experience on an agile work environment.
• Excellent experience with Microsoft Teams, MS-Excel, MS-Project.
• Researching, developing, and implementing new tools and processes to improve and automate Operational Support
• Maintaining OS system security standards, host and client access, and automating required audits.
• Acting in a technical leadership capacity to drive challenging projects across different organizational departments
• Create detailed technical documentation and provide Training to other entry and intermediate team members.
• Assist with projects as may be required to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the work.
• Attend management meetings on behalf of team.
• Participate in hiring activities and fulfilling affirmative action obligations and ensuring compliance with the equal employment opportunity policy.
• Working outside the standard office 9 hours workday as required; on-call availability.
• Strong problem-solving skills across the different Infrastructure layers
• Works effectively with a minimal amount of direction
• Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and Global Cross Domain Teams
• Willingness and ability to handle on-call escalations
• Willingness to work in 16*7 environment
• Some travel as required.
Required Academic and Relevant Experience
• B.E./BTech/MTech Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience
• 10-14 years of experience as an Operational manager with experience in Linux system administration
• People management experience.
• Strong experience in setting up KPIs for team
• Excellent experience using ticketing tools such as SNOW and JIRA and able to create dashboards as per requirements.
• Monitoring and optimizing performance for various services (i.e. Apache, JBoss, Tomcat), OS resources (memory, CPU, disk IO), and platforms (Load balancers, Xen, VMware, Monsoon, UCS, Azure, AWS)
• Hands on experience with Azure/AWS/OpenStack cloud solutions and optimize.
• Strong hands on experience on virtual (VMware/XEN) and Physical Servers (Cisco UCS, HP, Lenovo)
• Experience with Active Directory, DNS, SFTP solution are additional skills which are preferred.
