  • Royal Melbourne Hospital – City campus
  • Full Time, 80 hours per fortnight (including ADO)

The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

We are looking for passionate and dedicated individual to join our Cardiology team. This is a Full Time position, working 80 hours per fortnight (Including ADO), based at Royal Melbourne Hospital – City campus .

Your Opportunity:

The Cardiology Department has a Coronary Care Unit and Step Down Unit of 10 beds and a Cardiology ward of 29 beds.  The Cardiology Department has 2 Catheter Labs which provide a 24 hour acute coronary intervention service as well as a 10 bed Cardiology Day Ward.

The Department includes a large Adult Congenital Cardiac Service, a world class clinical and research Arrhythmia Service and a Cardiac Genetics Program.  Inpatient and outpatient tests include electrocardiograms (ECG), stress testing, 24 hour ambulatory monitoring, tilt table, event monitor recording and transthoracic, transoesophageal and stress echocardiography.  Outpatient clinics include Cardiology (Arrhythmia and Valvular), Coronary Follow Up, Adult Congenital Cardiac, Cardiomyopathy (heart failure), Pacemaker, Defibrillator, Cardiac Genetics and Cardiac Rehabilitation Programs.

We are seeking a highly motivated person to provide operational and strategic management as well as maximising the efficiency and effectiveness of the Cardiology Department.

  • Actively monitor and manage consumable and prosthetics use in the Department of Cardiology, including H trak reports
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue streams, improve billing and debt collection processes, reduce expenditure and increase efficiency.
  • Ensure a positive working environment is maintained through open communication and leadership. 

About You:  

  • Proven ability as an Operations Manager in a hospital/Cardiology environment
  • Tertiary qualification including business and relevant qualifications
  • Proven track record as an active team member within a multidisciplinary team environment, including financial responsibilities
  • Proven capacity to work under pressure, to meet time constraints and determine work priorities
