Job Description

Our expanding company in Brookvale is seeking to hire an Operations Manager to join our leadership team.

You will be in charge of providing inspired leadership for the operation and our lines of business, which involves making important strategic decisions, as well as the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures. You will also be assisting our Human Resources department with recruiting, when necessary, and help promote a company culture that encourages morale and high performance.

Successful candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in operations management (or a related field) and have prior experience in a management or leadership position. A deep understanding of financial management is also a plus.

You’ll ensure that teams are highly engaged (and deliver exceptional service) with the right resources, systems, support, and knowledge to achieve goals.

You'll have a technical background in process logistics, transport, and/or warehousing or similar. At Chill, we strongly believe that the success of our business and its future growth is based around having the correct people on board in our team.

You must be able to see the big picture as well as the finer details, as your work is across the spectrum. You'll deal in small daily matters, as well as larger aims with a hands on approach. Having systematic organised approach to your work is vital.

Key Result Areas:

25% Transport and Logistics: Revenue and P&L: Main thrust of the day to day operations – impacting on client satisfaction

20% Business Development & Account Management: Transport/Storage - Develop profitable business relationships with clients

20% Warehouse and Storage: Sales and income generation. Maintain integrity of stock control and accountability. Lean.

15% Allocated Special Project Tasks: Innovation and Technical advancement in the logistics stream.

10% Rental & Sales: Monitor sales revenue against forecast and actuals.

10% Human Resources: Assess requirements to hire. Manage employees including personnel development and expectation.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years experience & proven record in Logistics, Last Mile, 3PL, Warehousing, Production, Operations
  • BS degree in operations management or related field
  • Leadership and organisational skills
  • Immediate to advanced IT skills (software, applications, databases, MS Office etc)
  • Working knowledge of budgets, forecasting and metrics. Examine financial data/statements and use them to improve profitability
  • Recruit, train, supervise and appraise human resources
  • Perform quality controls and monitor KPI’s
  • Contribute towards the achievement of company’s strategic and operational objectives, values and mission, and plan for short and long-term goals
  • Negotiates and recommends supplier and partner contracts
  • Purchase materials, plan inventory and ensure warehouse efficiency
  • Work with senior stakeholders
  • Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Build alliances and partnerships with other organisations
  • Support worker communication with the management team
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organisation
  • Impeccable Employee Performance Management
