About the role:

As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the effective delivery of P&C operational services at Bank of Queensland. This will include leadership of a team who have carriage for managing the timely execution of operational activities tied to employee onboarding, changes, exits and tier 1 advice.

In addition, you will be responsible for initiating, developing and driving projects and process improvements as they relate to operations, which will include the identification, analysis and presentation of process, procedural and policy changes and other projects that are necessary to allow the P&C operational team to meet the strategic goals of the organisation.

Specifically you will:

  • Oversee the P&C Operations function and provide hands on support and advice regarding employee lifecycle processes while fostering an engaged and high performing team
  • Manage more complex business issues by engaging with key stakeholders and performing in-depth analysis to define and implement best-fit solutions
  • Develop and manage team performance against targets, including quality, accuracy and timeliness
  • Track and analyse trends in HR customer queries to inform improvement projects and communication requirements around processes, policies and forms
  • Simplify and streamline HR operational activities and thinking to achieve practical solutions which improve the employee experience
  • Develop targeted and easy to understand self-service HR information and solutions for leaders and employees, including the development, implementation and governance of HR policies, documents and forms.
  • Coach and mentor team and others with expert advice and guidance on employee lifecycle processes and projects.
  • Provides thought leadership and ability to co-ordinate stakeholders to deliver improvement projects
  • Partner with colleagues in the broader P&C function to ensure timely delivery of requirements.

About you:

As a commercially astute individual you will be able to demonstrate extensive experience managing an Operations team within People & Culture, with a focus on process excellence, data insights and driving operational change.

Key to your success will be your exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and build credibility, along with your innovative approach to identify and deliver high quality services to your customers and continuous improvement.

You will be a strong and engaging leader, with tertiary qualifications in a HR or related field, teamed with strong analytical, problem solving and commercial skills, and the ability to build rapport with internal stakeholders whilst balancing competing priorities and requirements.
