Founded in Sydney in 2017 we saw the need to provide flexible leases of electric bikes to people who want to make money from food delivery. We are providing couriers the best bikes in the world for food delivery at the lowest price possible. We’ve had phenomenal growth and are now operating in Sydney, Melbourne, London and soon San Francisco.

Great operations are at the heart of our business. The Operations team is responsible for establishing systems and processes to execute Bolt Bikes’ strategy in the most flawless way so that Bolt Bikes users are ensured unrivalled efficiency, safety and top-notch service.

Reporting to the COO, the City Operations Manager has a direct impact on the success of Bolt Bikes. This role requires a combination of savvy analytics, strategic thinking, strong execution and the interpersonal ability to work with teams from across the business. Bolt Bikes is a new business and we are looking for a highly adaptable candidate who is able to switch between long-term strategic initiatives one moment and pivot into rapid, tactical actions the next. The problems you solve and the impact you have will shape how Bolt Bikes operates in the future (and future operations managers!).

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for BOLT BIKES Sydney Operations in the following areas:

  1. Fleet management
    • Develop and optimize processes (i.e. bike assembly & repairs) to allow Bolt Bikes Sydney to operate and grow efficiently
    • Analyze data to streamline processes and forecasts demand
  2. Customer experience
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive customer acquisition and retention metrics
    • Identify local user needs and proactively search for new features which could improve rider experience
  3. Business development
    • Vendor and channel partners management (e.g. local suppliers & food delivery companies like Deliveroo, UberEats)
    • Execution of local marketing and partnership strategies
    • Co-develop and drive the strategic direction for Bolt Bikes Sydney and own a full roadmap of initiatives to drive growth and increase engagement


  • 3+ years of working experience with at least 2 years in an analyst or operational role and 1-2 years of people management
  • Data-driven in your decision making with sound business judgement
  • Ability to take initiative in a constantly-changing work environment
  • Experience in creating and optimizing processes
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Self-starter and radiates positivity and possess a “can-do” attitude
  • An entrepreneurial attitude. A laser focus on meeting targets and finding creative ways to meet them
  • Relevant industry (cycling, food delivery, mobility, technology) experience advantageous
  • Alignment with Bolt Bikes’ vision and purpose
