The Regional Logisitics & Packaging Manager is responsible to actively manage all Logistics activities in theLATAM region. The role provides strategic and tactical Services to all business segments in Cabot for Transportation, Warehousing and Packaging activities, including support for the operations teams. This role is responsible for developing strategic sourcing initiatives in close alignment with the Businesses, the P2D Planning Team and the Global Logistics Director.
In addition, this role is in charge to establish and further develop best in class supplier performance management, including supplier life cycle management and supplier quality assessment. The regional manager shall also provide regular market intelligence to internal stakeholders and is the Center of Excellence (CoE) and subject matter expert for all logistics aspects. Engages with Business to meet customer needs, provides innovation & digitalization process improvements on top of cost savings and supporting the companies sustainability targets. This role has full budget and supplier management responsibility.
Supplier Selection & Performance Management:
RFQ Management & Sourcing Responsibility
Supplier Selection responsibility for Logistics & Packaging activities in the region
Ensures high visibility of the Supplier performance and optimized selection process based on quality, efficiency, service and cost.
Ensures a best in class Supplier Performance Management (KPI’s), Quality of SLA’s (Service level agreements) and Scorecards are in place for all critical suppliers.
In charge for strategic & tactical Supplier Life Cycle Management
Leads supplier performance reviews including salesforce case reviews.
Cost & Volume Management across supplier base
External 3rd Party Warehouse & Distribution Centre (f.e. Jeanerette, Bourassa, Hartely Oil Ravenswood) Management (Strategic, Tactical, Commercial and Quality perspective, not operations management)
Process Improvements, Innovation, Digitalization & Trade Compliance:
Implements and manages business and service plans for the region. Works with senior management and other internal and external customers to ensure satisfactory and efficient services for all logistics activities.
In charge to drive innovation in the category space. Develops best in class Transportation Management Systems and EDI Solutions, drives Digitalization initiatives such as paperless transportation processes, touchless PO’s for packaging and other continuous improvements.
Ensures close alignment with Suppliers, Supply Chain & Manufacturing to develop innovative packaging solutions.
Participates in the review of processes, procedures and standards. Ensures performance meets or exceeds standards and goals. Proposes improvements to existing methods to enhance quality, efficiency, reliability, innovation and continuity of service.
Participates in regular S&OP Calls, GDD Meetings and Quality Board Meetings to share market intelligence, continuously improve the supplier performance and enhance the business needs & expectations.
Ensures that all activities are managed in compliance with local, regional and or global trade regulations.
Operations & Business Support:
Provides leadership and resolution to escalated service problems coming from Business Service Centers, Operations Teams, Sales or Business Leaders. Manage Root Cause Analysis and drives actively corrective actions with Suppliers and aligns with Stakeholders on updates made in Salesforce.
Develops and maintains excellent business relationships with internal & external parties, which may include customers, third-party service providers, vendors as well as internal groups. Is actively involved in customer and sales meetings.
Achieves savings, following the S2P Policies and ensures on-time reporting in Ariba System
Manages category budgets; oversees category data and related costs
Manages the travel & expense budget.
Provides guidance to operations & StP teams to ensure understanding of the logistics market and support the drive for efficiency & effectiveness in the logistics space & cooperation with other category managers.
This role reports to the Global Logistics Director and is part of the P2D (Plan to Deliver) Team as part of the GBS (Global Business Services) Organization. There are dotted lines from International Business Analysts and Transportation Analysts based in the plants.
Policies & Compliance Management:
Ensures compliance with policies, procedures including safety, internal control, Sarbanes-Oxley regulations and ISO 9000 standards.
Manages the review of the harmonized tariff codes.
Provides support to the Business for the review of Free Trade Agreements and the set-up of the approved exporter / AEO status of Production Sites.
Supports efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care® Management System in line with the requirements of the RC14001® technical specification, as applicable to the site/region.
Excellent Category management expertise. Strong background in category operations – transportation and packaging, strategic & tactical supplier performance management as well as good experience in RFQ & Project management. Expert in Supplier Performance Management. Familiar with international procedures and methods.
Solid proficiency in ERP and Ariba systems.
Business management skills and functional knowledge.
Strong Leadership and communication skills. Ability to lead and motivate team members. Strong inter-personal skills in order to communicate and interact with customers and internal groups.
University degree in Business Management, Logistics or Category related discipline.
Minimum 5-10 years’ experience as Logistics Procurement Manager or similar.
Must speak fluent English.
