Job Description

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following;

  • Ensuring that all payroll processing is performed within strict timeframes, including new employee details, terminations, master file changes, timesheets, leave, award increases etc
  • Maintaining accurate and timely employee master file (payroll and benefits) details which are in line with conditions of employment
  • Making any corrections and adjustments to payroll data identified as part of assessment and audit processes or by any other means
  • Ensuring internal controls and processes are adhered to e.g. completion of work log on a daily basis, balancing of the payroll etc
  • Continuous improvement activities in the area of both process and controls and present these to the Payroll Coordinator
  • Maintaining accuracy, professionalism and a high quality of service at all times
  • Providing support to the Payroll Supervisor as required and ensure that he/she is informed of all major issues
The Successful Applicant

The successful applicant for the role of Payroll Officer will possess;

  • Minimum of 2 Years end to end Payroll experience
  • Strong attention to detail, with a methodical approach to investigating anomalies and following up with line managers.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • The ability to work in a team environment with a desire to take ownership and suggest changes to enhance the position.
  • Knowledge of multiple large systems is highly desirable
  • Ability to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality when dealing with employee details
  • Knowledge of Awards and Collective Agreements and their application.
