JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • End to end processing of payroll for 100+ employees and contractors nationally with a combination of semi-monthly, bi-weekly and weekly pay frequencies
  • Data entry of all payroll and some HR related items including benefit updates and changes
  • Review and upload of employee expenses from Concur for reimbursement
  • Maintain employee records accurately and up-to-date in the HRIS/Payroll system
  • Compiling and summarizing payroll information for management reports on a required basis
  • Generating and assisting with regular monthly and annual payroll remittances and filings with respect to third party withholdings
  • Assisting with ongoing audit requirements
  • Point of contact for all employee payroll inquiries
  • Third party payments for non-compulsory deductions (Group RRSP for example)
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and other projects as assigned
  • The individual will report to the onsite Accounting team lead, will work closely with onsite accounting team members, onsite HR as well as accounting, payroll and HR team members in the U.S.

  • 3+ years’ experience processing full-cycle payroll, preferably 200+ people
  • A PCP designation required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with Ceridian an asset
  • Knowledge of Excel to include pivot tables, v lookup.
  • Knowledge of Excel macros an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel in particular (pivot tables, macros)
  • Ability to work independently yet team-oriented
  • Ability to work accurately yet efficiently
  • Excellent communication skills
