Core to Bechtel are our values - ethics, safety, quality, people, culture, relationships, innovation and sustainability, and our covenants - integrity, respect, collaboration, trust, and delivery. They are what we believe, what customers can expect, and how we deliver.
An opportunity exists within the Bechtel project team to work closely with our customer on the SCM21 Project. BHP selected Bechtel as the engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) contractor for Olympic Dam’s Smelter Campaign Maintenance 2021 (SCM21). SCM21 is the second project in a planned series of major shutdowns for the Olympic Dam (OD) surface operations that aim to improve the integrity of critical plant and infrastructure to deliver safe and reliable production performance, productivity improvements in bottleneck areas and sustainable cost reductions in non-bottleneck areas.
SCM21 will build upon the scope recently completed in SCM17 and is focused on delivering the next phase of the long-term strategy of decreasing the required OD smelter outage days by at least 20% (over a 20-year period post SCM17) while maintaining an acceptable risk profile throughout the subsequent campaign. The project works cover many areas of the Hot Metals (HM) and Non-Hot Metals (NHM) area and are being delivered under a series of packages.
This position will be based in Adelaide initially before relocating to Olympic Dam site at Roxby Downs in July 2021 in preparation for the shutdown that commences in August 2021 and finishes in November 2021.
The PM02 Planner is responsible for the set-up and/or maintenance of project scheduling tools, procedures and work processes. A key element of the role is to lead teams in development of schedules, interfacing across disciplines (engineering, procurement and construction), and presenting to Bechtel and client Project Management Teams, so excellent communication and presentation skills are essential. The Planner will be responsible for all project reporting and ensuring quality and consistency across reports. The Planner will demonstrate skill in identifying, analyzing, and providing workable solutions to planning and scheduling problems.
