Golder has a new opportunity for an Underground Mine Planning Engineer to
join our Mine Engineering and Stability team on a full-time basis in our Perth
office.
This position offers the opportunity to apply your
technical knowledge and experience on a range of challenging projects whilst

Key duties and responsibilities include:

+ Provide mine engineering input for scoping,pre-feasibility and feasibility studies. This will include:
+ Application of mining software for optimisation,design and scheduling of open pit and underground mines;
+ Equipment selection, fleet and haulage modellingand optimisation;
+ Operating and capital cost estimation; and
+ Preparation of high-quality technical reports.
+ Apply critical thinking, problem solving andstrategic decision-making to provide appropriate solutions for clients;
+ Carry out technical work in support of duediligence reviews supporting mergers, acquisitions under the supervision ofsenior engineers;
+ Assist in the preparation of tenders, proposals andreports for clients;
+ Liaise with mining engineers, resource geologists,and specialists from other disciplines and offices within Golder Associates;
+ Assist with business development and proposalpreparation;
+ Provide input to bespoke mining softwaredevelopment;
+ Assist with site support and training;
+ Preparation of technical papers and reports;
+ Undertake travel both domestically andinternationally as required to support project work;
+ Provide input to workplace safety and assist in identifyingand alleviating/ eliminating high priority safety hazards; and
+ Demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and technicalexcellence.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

+ Bachelor’sdegree in mining engineering with 2 to 5 years of experience working on undergroundmine planning related projects
+ Experienceworking in consulting environment will be highly regarded
+ Must have experience with mine planning packagessuch as Dewik or similar (Vulcan or Surpac)
+ Excellent verbal and written communicationskills
+ A strong affinity for health and safety
