Within the framework of the Group Continuous Improvement program, called I-Cubed, the Industry 4.0 Mining and Resource Planning(MRP) Manager will support the roll-out of the current Industry 4.0 technologies (e.g. drones, fleet management, collaborative software and digital twins) within our Mining Operations and Resource Planning teams. These Industry 4.0 initiatives will generate efficiencies and savings that will then fund new Industry 4.0 initiatives for production sites and mines.
The Industry 4.0 MRP Manager will also lead investigations into new Industry 4.0 technologies for the Mining and Resource Planning teams in order to further improve their performance. He/she will project manage the POC (Proof of Concept) studies of selected new initiatives at one or more sites to validate that Imerys can benefit from the initiatives.
He/she is responsible for developing the knowledge and know-how of any Industry 4.0 technologies that are selected for implementation within Imerys mines and resource planning teams. This will include providing the required documentation and delivering training sessions/coaching to the relevant people within the Business Areas and Group COE.
The Industry 4.0 MRP Manager will be active in the Mining & Resource Planning communities and facilitate the transfer of good Industry 4.0 practices globally within Imerys. He/she will work with our MRP experts towards finding, testing and valorizing as many applications as possible made available through these new technologies.
Scope: Imerys Worldwide, requiring up to 50% travel time (long & short haul) or in “virtual site visit mode” via remote systems.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Industry 4.0 technologies for technologies already selected
Roll-out the selected technologies (drones, fleet management, data-management software) in all mines and planning teams:
Select the sequence of mines and teams where the technologies will be implemented
Build the roll-out schedule and respect it
Develop the playbook for the implementation and the best use of these new technologies
Train & coach people who will be locally in charge of the new technologies
Based on the play book go after and deliver the expected savings in the already identified areas (quick wins ) ;
Work with the sites to identify and spread new cost saving ideas using these new technologies.
Be the SPOC (Single Point of Contact) for the technology, and provide technical, operational and safety support to local teams.
Use the feedback from local teams to improve the implementation, organization and/or development of new functionalities.
Industry 4.0 technologies identification and development
Monitor the market and/or with the inputs of Imerys Mining & Resource Planning community:
Identify new Industry 4.0 technologies for Mining and Resource Planning teams that could be relevant for Imerys.
In a project mode, lead the POCs for the most relevant technologies at one or more sites/teams.
Document a return on experience for each POC and decide whether or not to roll the concept/technology out Imerys wide.
In the event of an Imerys wide roll-out, be responsible for providing site support as well as monitoring/tracking the rate and success of implementation.
Provide internal training to the relevant people in the Mining and Resource Planning community (mine managers, engineers, geologists etc).
Deliver standard training to support the implementation of Industry 4.0 solutions.
Design and deliver specific training modules to support new Industry 4.0 methodologies (e.g.for a new POC).
Be an active facilitator of knowledge and technology sharing within the Imerys wide mining and resource planning community.
Interact with other people involved in Industry 4.0 projects at Group and/or BA level so that good practices & knowledge are shared Group wide.
Promote networking within the Group by facilitating events, webinars, e-community management, etc.
Degree qualified mining professional (Mine Engineering and/or Geology, Surveying, Metallurgy etc )
5 to 10 years’ mining experience in and/or having 1st hand knowledge of :
Mining techniques such as: drill, blast load and haul, underground etc
Managing a mine
Geological and resource modelling
Technical skills and knowledge:
Understanding of the types and breadth of mining within Imerys
Broad Mining & Resource Planning experience
Knowledge in advanced Mining & Resource Planning technologies (Drones, Geological modelling, mine planning, HME and fleet management etc.)
Data analysis skills
Fluent English - compulsory
Any other language skills will be favorably considered
