About the role

The Senior Media Planning Manager is responsible for ensuring that budget is used optimally through the lens of campaign objectives (especially for brand campaigns) and the universe of available inventory, both during tactical planning, and ongoing cross-channel optimizations. The Senior Media Planning Manager will also have responsibility for the day-to-day management of the tactical media plan and its proper implementation, working to implement the brand's overall media strategy in the context of changing marketplace conditions and opportunities. This role is responsible for demonstrating a strong working knowledge of the media space and available media research.

This role represents a marked progression in Media Planning capability depth and breadth, and therefore will take on tasks within the realm of both a Media Planning Manager and a Director, based on the skills, knowledge, and experience required and the complexity and size of a given campaign.

Some of the things we’d like you to do:

  • Completion of Tactical Plans, Performance Reports, and Post-Campaign Analysis as directed by Associate Director or Director, across all digital inventory (from search to video) for the campaigns within their scope
  • Responsible for expressing the rationale behind media investment decisions and evidencing the performance vs. expected outcomes
  • Accountable for the completion of and adherence to Campaign Analysts Plans for assigned campaigns
  • Responsible for the quality of reporting and insights within assigned campaigns.
  • Host client 1-1 meetings and sync-ups
  • Contributes content to and present at Media Planning Milestone Meetings such as tactical presentations and post campaign analyses
  • Deliver quarterly, semi-annual, or annual updates on work quality as it relates to workstreams they are responsible for (Quarterly business review, Learning Agenda, Platform Evaluations)
  • Identify new vendors/partners while maintaining a POV on them
  • Development multiple case studies throughout the course of the year to be leveraged in internal training/onboarding as well as in new business
  • Drives how syndicated and first party data is used within the campaign lifecycle
  • Support global alignment and collaboration at the Client Pod level
  • Ensure successful onboarding of new Essentials by creating onboarding plans for new hires/members of the team
  • Line manage 2-4 direct reports to support career growth and development within Media Planning
  • Support Senior Director in capacity of planning and resource management  by managing tasks within the pods

A bit about yourself:

  • At least 4-6 years’ experience in the Digital Media or Advertising field
  • Solid understanding of the principles of marketing and advertising, media concepts and terms, and creative and budget requirements
  • Solid grasp of all areas of digital marketing, including a deep knowledge of digital media
  • Ability to forecast expected outcomes of brand and DR campaigns and manage spend accordingly
  • Experience with Media Research/Platform Tools (Live panel, GWI, Google keyword planner, Google trends, Facebook tools etc...) preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the desire to learn and advance
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented and capable of multi-tasking
  • Proven problem solving skills and ability to think outside of the box for creative solutions
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment
