BC Children’s Hospital (BCCH) cares for the most acutely ill or injured children and youth. BCCH also provides developmental and rehabilitation services to children and youth throughout BC, and operates a wide number of specialized health programs provided through a number of health services provider groups. As the main pediatrics clinical training site for the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia (UBC), BCCH is the leading acute care teaching facility in the province, and conducts research to advance health and knowledge through the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute, and collaborations with other institutions.
BC Children’s Hospital is seeking a fellowship trained pediatric plastic and craniofacial surgeon interested in a clinical academic career starting January 2022. Applicants must have passed or be eligible for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada examinations in plastic surgery. Applicants must be eligible for full licensure with the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons by January 2022.
The successful candidate will fill a 1.0 FTE contract position at British Columbia Children’s Hospital, serving an active teaching, research, and clinical role on a team with 4 other pediatric plastic surgeons. The ideal candidate will have training that allows full engagement in a combined craniofacial and general pediatric plastic surgery practice, including a strong interest in vascular anomalies and laser, and proficiency in hand, cleft, burns, microsurgery, and trauma.
The successful applicant will be recommended for and expected to fulfil the academic responsibilities of a Clinical Faculty Appointment in the UBC Division of Plastic Surgery, an accredited RCPSC training program, at a rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
