Are you looking to make the next step in your career? We have an exciting new opportunity at AXA within our Lifecycle Management area.

As an SQL Engineer you will administer and support AXA Insurance data platforms, performing deployments and upgrades, monitoring and reviewing capacity, supporting integrations and changes as required to deliver to our business requirements for system availability, service level agreements security and compliance.  You will also provide technical advice and resolve complex incidents / problems and implement functional changes, upgrades, planned maintenance and integrations with minimal disruption to business.

Your key accountabilities will be:

  • Administration of AXA Insurance data platforms hosted in UK datacentres and with Cloud providers, ensuring the required availability, security and performance levels are met.
  • Operating production and development data services across the AXAI data services estate including deployment of changes across the AXAI data service estate and provision of support for complex data services incidents (or requests) – acting as second and third line support for data service issues and providing effective problem resolution.
  • Contributing to the design and development of support processes and practices for new projects, products and technologies to ensure that these operate effectively when introduced into the production environments.
  • Continuous improvement of processes and practices, automating processes where possible and reviewing the way work is done to deliver efficiently and effectively.
  • Key responsibility for personal development to acquire competencies in relation to new technologies, methodologies, security and compliance as relevant to our business needs.




Skills & Qualifications
The Ideal Candidate will have:
  • Experience of a variety of data platforms  (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Informatica, Kalido, Power BI, DataBricks etc.)
  • Experience of version control software – ideally Azure DevOps and GIT Repos
  • Insurance industry or regulated financial services organisation experience
  • Ideally some Business Intelligence / Data expertise using Microsoft products
  • Experience with Security and governance best practice and tools\controls to enforce policy
  • Proven decision making ability and analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent Communications and Collaboration Skills
