Job Description


EIIC EPG Residential & Wiring Devices Division has an opening for Engineer position- Product line support on Wiring Devices product range primarily for US markets. He/she will be responsible for product life cycle management of existing product lines. He/she should have thorough knowledge of PLM systems such as Intralink, Enovia, SAP PLM and Wind-chill to manage the design changes in a product line across multiple geographies. He/she should possess strong technical and analytical skills to execute and take engineering decisions based on calculations, simulations, testing and other engineering methods as applicable to the project.
+ Independently perform key engineering tasks and calculations to execute product deviation or change requests on a day to day basis.
+ Supervises designers to complete detailed design of the components and validate the change request. Reports, monitors and tracks performance on ECNs on a day to day basis.
+ Execute proto-type build, performance / durability testing, teardown of proto-type samples to evaluate product performance against change requirements.
+ Utilizes understanding of manufacturing processes to improve existing designs & acts as a technical resource to resolve technical challenges
+ Completely own and deliver engineering artifacts including DFMEA, drawings, and tolerance allocation to name a few for validation of change notes- ECNs.
+ Work in a cross functional/ multi-disciplinary team in making project and engineering decisions required for change execution supported by calculations, simulations, testing or other analytical methods.
+ Maintains complete engineering data records for future reference and continuous improvements on the product line
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electronics Engineering
Desired : ProLaunch / PMP trained
+ Minimum 4 years of experience in the field of product design and development for electrical applications with experience in cost out, certification and productivity improvement projects.
+ Excellent oral and written communications skills. A high degree of aptitude, creativity, and self-direction is required.
+ Sound technical knowledge and experience in development and life cycle management of Electrical product lines such as Receptacles, Industrial Plugs and sockets, Ground Fault Breaker (GFCI) and relevant product standards such as UL, IEC & NEC.
+ Demonstrated project execution of change requests from initialization to validation and implementation on manufacturing line.
+ Should have good knowledge on different product design tools environment like CAD- PRO E, Inventor, Enovia, SAP-PLM and FEA tools as required for product design and development.
+ Experience in collaborating with local / global suppliers for prototype developments, external labs for testing etc.
