The Group has leading capabilities in all areas of active fund management including Multi Asset, Public Debt and Private Assets. The Group’s focus is acting as a trusted partner and adviser to a diversified client base across institutional, wholesale and retail clients and in different geographies. Solutions, the provision of defined outcome and structure, has become central to this role and the successful growth of the business over the past 10 years, firstly through a number of hugely popular funds and more recently through the development of more bespoke and client specific mandates. In order to continue to manage existing mandates from EU based-clients, as well as attract new ones post-Brexit, new investment-focused roles are being created in Europe. The Investment Manager – Multi-Asset/Investment Solutions will lead an a team and be responsible for M&G’s investment and solutions activity for EU clients. The location of the role will be in Paris with regular travel expected across Continental Europe.
Decision making in the role of portfolio manager around implementation of investment decisions and managing portfolios to their targets. This will include setting the appropriate asset allocations for clients, as well as overseeing the transfer of investment recommendations to clients. Responsible for agreeing investment objectives with client, as well as appropriate portfolio risk controls and ensuring that mandates are managed to these on an on-going basis. Serve as a senior representative of the Investment Solutions team in meetings with EU intermediary, institutional investors (clients and prospects), consultants, and internal colleagues. Develop a clear understanding of the particular needs and interests of investors for investment solutions. Promote the investment capabilities of M&G via a consultative, solutions-oriented approach consistent with the mandate of Investment Solutions. Support the gathering and retention of AUM for off-the-shelf solutions as well as customized strategies by working closely with both investment and distribution teams. Line management and oversight of junior team members including overseeing the investment advice they provide to clients. Maintain in-depth knowledge of investment solutions that encompass Asset Allocation, Fixed Income and Equity investment strategies. Attend investment meetings, read research reports, utilize information services, etc. to maintain knowledge base required to successfully represent the capabilities of M&G and the strategic initiatives of Multi-Asset Solutions. Support the development of presentation/communication/marketing materials, RFP content, etc. used in support of multi-asset solutions opportunities. Activities will require extensive interactions and coordination with Solutions colleagues, Asset Allocation associates, portfolio managers, portfolio specialists, other investment professionals, and distribution associates. Advance the reputation and market awareness of M&G, both globally as well as in-region, via thought leadership, including: white papers, industry journals, conferences and symposiums. Serve as an external contact for multi-asset & solutions mandates implemented for clients using experience in investment risk and portfolio management. Support the servicing of relationships via close interaction with a wide range of M&G staff, including portfolio managers, portfolio specialists, operations staff, and other staff responsible for producing and delivering content to internal and external audiences. Build close partnerships with key internal staff, most notably regional distribution associates responsible for prospect and client development. Provide multi-asset solutions training to internal staff in one-on-one or group settings as appropriate. Responsible for monitoring potential breaches in "limits" (e.g. regulatory rules, IMAs and investment objectives) and ensuring the escalation all operational concerns to senior management (including, but not exclusively relating to conflicts, TCF, breaches, errors, suspicious trading activities etc.). Ensuring that actions are in accordance with M&G’s Business Principles and with the Regulator’s principles on good conduct and market integrity. Ensure that actions are in the best interests of customers and that they are treated fairly and that proper standards of market conduct are observed. Act with integrity and with due care, skill and diligence. Ensuring that all regulatory requirements are fulfilled, including timely completion of all regulatory training and declarations. A minimum requirement of an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution and at least 10 years of relevant work experience.
Strong preference for experience in the design, construction and management of multi-asset strategies to wholesale intermediary, insurance and pension clients.
Strong knowledge of the market opportunities and drivers for partnerships and solutions across intermediary, pension and insurance segments including client demand, regulatory requirements and technology developments.
CFA, IMC or equivalent qualification and FCA approval required.
Must have a passion for the investment business with a deep understanding of investment concepts and have a strong working knowledge of investment strategies and tactics.
Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to present complex concepts to a wide range of audiences in a consultative, solutions-focused manner.
Exceptional relationship and interpersonal skills with ability to interact well with portfolio managers, portfolio specialists, quantitative analysts, sales and client service professionals, and institutional clients and consultants.

Consideration is given at this meeting to any significant findings from senior managers from the attending Investment Teams, Controls & Assurance, Audit, Risk and Compliance in relation to investment activities (which range from control failures, incidents, risks and conflicts etc.)
Oversight meetings are held for mandates where client, construction, performance or portfolio risk issues exist.
Breaches of internal guidelines, IMAs or regulatory guidelines are reported in line with escalation procedures and at Oversight meetings.
