In this position - located in our Macquarie Park, Australia office - you will design and deliver OSI's control systems and provide ongoing customer support to ensure reliable performance and world-class customer satisfaction. Basic knowledge of electric utility operation, control, and optimization is required. In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Evaluate contract specifications and define project requirements.
  • Communicate detailed requirements to internal departments as needed.
  • Design, plan, integrate, test and commission Distribution Management Systems (DMS) and Outage Management Systems (OMS), including:
    • Assist in creating project and product documentation as needed
    • Understand customer system and service requirements, through customer contact and communications;
    • Execute or witness commissioning tests such as Factory or Site acceptance tests (FAT/SAT);
    • Perform unit testing and tuning to ensure power system applications will meet customer and industry requirements
    • Consult on power system modelling to ensure the effective use and maintenance of a customer’s power system applications
    • Prepare supporting documentation and reports;
  • Work on several projects in parallel in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability and flexibility to travel to domestic and international customer sites;
  • Conduct trainings at Customer site and in OSI premises;
  • Support live customer systems using knowledge of power systems and OSI application functionality with clear, logical thought processes.


Requirements

Minimum

  • Australian Citizen or Permanent resident with full working rights;
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering including completion of one or more Power Systems courses.
  • Basic understanding of DMS & OMS applications and interfaces: State Estimation, Volt VAR Control, Load Flow, Load Forecast, FLISR, Vehicle Location, Fault Location, GIS etc.
  • Basic knowledge of C/C++, Python, relational databases, HTML and XML;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Superior organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task on several projects in parallel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability and flexibility to travel to domestic and international customer sites.
  • Strong commitment to providing superior customer service.

Preferred

  • 3+ years of related experience in utility industry with SCADA, Distribution Management System (DMS), Outage Management System (OMS) and DERMS;
  • Work experience with Australian utilities, either on utility, consultancy or vendor side;
