Join us at a pivotal time as we integrate CommInsure Life (CMLAS Pty Ltd) into the AIA Australia family. Reporting through to the Head of Portfolio Capability and Demand, you will have accountability for the continuous development and capability uplift of key delivery disciplines as well as manage the supply and demand of resources across the Portfolio ensuring on time and quality delivery in accordance with AIA’s strategic delivery agenda. This position can be based in either Melbourne or Sydney.

Strategic priorities for this role

  • Develop a practice framework including skill matrix for each role type (discipline) and plan to continually evolve and uplift capability and support development plans

  • Lead the development and execution of an end to end training framework program including material to raise the capability through coaching, training and on the job learning

  • Efficient identification, approval, recruitment, deployment and optimized allocation of PMO resources to ensure successful delivery of projects through resource capacity planning and performance management

  • Work with the Delivery Heads Of, Program and Project Managers to balance the relative priorities of resources and ensure the right resources are in the right roles to ensure quality deliveries are achieved

  • Ensure strong business stakeholder engagement and collaboration with technology to enhance quality, cost and timely delivery of projects and program

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders, both internal and external to drive and influence in order to achieve project/program/portfolio objectives

  • Work closely with Agile Coaches to lead the recruitment, development, capability, embedment of tools and culture pertaining to Agile methods and ways of working across the business, including the transition to SCRUM across projects

  • Monitor and support direct reports compliance with appropriate project methodology, processes and policies followed across projects, programs and portfolio to ensure excellence in project delivery.

To be successful in this role you will have

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Project Management, Human Resources, Information Systems or Engineering disciplines

  • Proven experience running specialist PMO practices

  • Extensive business analysis and testing experience and delivery experience with strong experience in Insurance/financial services industry

  • Proven experience in establishing, growing and uplifting relevant practices to grow and develop resources that support strategic project delivery

  • Ability to optimise allocation of practice resources to successfully deliver all projects within the PMO as well as ensuring optimal utilization and performance of resources

  • Strong understanding of all relevant project methodologies and processes (including Safe Agile, Lean Waterfall) and the ability to identify and utilise key tools and processes to ensure project delivery success

  • Experience in stakeholder management at all levels, with ability to influence, negotiate and prioritises to find ‘win-win’ outcomes
