Primary Objectives


The Pre- Sales Engineer is responsible for technical coordination with partners and customers. He is responsible for all technical support and help to technically push the full portfolio to existing channel partners or when recruiting new ones. Furthermore the Pre-Sales Engineer is responsible for directly engaging end users to stimulate business through indirect sales channels such as value added resellers (VARs), national resellers and distributors, and to serve as liaisons to channel partners with regards to any technical related aspects. 


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Support in the development of technical skills for channel partners.
  • Follow-up of technical projects to sales and pre-sales teams.
  • Assist in increasing VAR and end user adoption of WatchGuard’s products through events and training (seminars, web trainings, technical trainings, etc.)
  • Drive coordination of technical resources as needed to close prospective opportunities
  • Assist Channel Account Managers with pre-sales and post-sales support
  • The pre-sales engineer provides technical support to the sales team in the context of commercial proposals and negotiations.
  • Maintain reseller account information (technical contact / profile information, etc.)
  • Identify and report on competitive trends (products, promotions, etc.) in territory
  • Escalate and resolve reseller / end customer technical issues when appropriate
