NTT Ltd is looking for an analytical, results-oriented resource to join our European Commercial team. This person will be responsible for two critical functions:

1) Primary focus on pricing strategy and execution of deals on behalf of NTT Spain [NTT ES], ensuring we are competitive, profitable, and provide exceptional customer service; and
2) Supporting non-Spanish deals, where capacity permits, from a pricing, governance and pre-sales perspective.

Working at NTT


  • Interpreting, validating and managing sales team’s requirements – continuous communication with sales teams and other technical experts to understand, anticipate and meet customer pricing needs related to relevant opportunities.
  • Lead commercial offer and pricing strategy for RFPs and other large opportunities.
  • Create and update financial analysis of the deals, finalise pricing and associated commercial terms and conditions in NTT Ltd and/or client pricing template.
  • Review the pricing and costing inputs to ensure that what was provided is defendable and acceptable. This review includes providing a commercial summary, benefits, internal margin sharing, financial options, deal risks and assumptions.
  • Present key pricing assumptions and risks for sign off at relevant levels, in line with the authority matrix. These individuals contribute to the commercial management strategy and can evaluate deal costs and margin as it evolves through the process.
  • Accountability for the provision of data analysis and with the development of cost/price proposals.
  • Ensure that client proposals and contract clearly incorporate the NTT necessary terms and conditions for optimal commercial and financial engagements. They are required to determine what those terms and conditions consists of. They work closely and negotiate with financial institutions to structure client financing models to meet client needs.
  • Engage with and leverage off relationships between NTT and vendors and/or subcontractors and strategic alliances, including the Legal Team during the conception, construction and review of client proposals, soliciting information and resolving queries. Display a strong client and service orientation to internal and external clients and engage with vendor owners.
  • Determine the commercial aspects of and provide input into the qualification of tenders and presales engagements. Calculate the long-term profit of deals, evaluating and concluding on foreign currency issues and the impacts of these both financially and contractually. In so doing, ensure deal profitability is not eroded over time.
  • Take ownership of the taxation implications of deals and bids ensuring that deal profitability is maximised. Evaluate and conclude on all tax issues and risks ensuring that there is no indirect tax inefficiency in respect of deal structuring. Consider inflationary movements and cost of living issues, ensuring that this does not impact negatively on deal profitability over the long term.
  • Ensure taxation implications are addressed with relevant input from the global and guidance and input from relevant senior specialists in the business.
  • Evaluate and assess the impact of invoicing profiles and payment terms. Take responsibility for ensuring that deal cash flows regarding payments to vendors and receipts from clients are understood and maximised. Advise on the build of pricing model profiles as required and financially assess client requirements and related pricing impacts. Perform an impact analysis on these profiles and ensure that the credit worthiness of the client is adequately addressed.
  • Critically evaluate financing, leasing and accounting impacts of deals. Ensure deals take advantage of and consider revenue recognition in line with NTT policies. Ensure that accounting policies are understood by all relevant stakeholders, maximising and protecting margins and NTT Group metrics.
  • Assist with/lead or participate in the negotiation of deals with clients. Aid in the form of interpretation and advice to the account management team to enable conclusion of the deal. Advise on, identify and mitigate risk impacts relating to deals, including:
  • The commercial viability of the opportunity
  • Duration of the contract and the legal processes in relation to the structure of the contract and Service Level Agreement
  • Service credits and liquidated damages
  • Delivery capability relevant to client requirements
  • Incorporation of subcontractors and deal partners
  • Perform detailed commercial contractual and financial analysis on existing clients and complex sales opportunities. Evaluate and decide whether opportunities are and continue to be commercially viable. Evaluate and contribute to the financial strategy of deals, i.e. the value-add for the client, including conducting a competitor analysis to ensure the best offering and differentiating NTT from the competitor.
  • Take ownership of compliance and mitigate risks in terms of penalties, contract termination, building agreements, limitation of liability and non-solicitation for bids and/or deals and provide feedback to the key stakeholders regarding these.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and arbitrate between various functions, regions and divisions internally within NTT. They use their well-developed understanding of various business principles and apply these to the solutions devised.

  • 3+ years of pricing experience in telecommunications, systems integration, and/or business management/consulting or pricing roles that have included quantitative analysis on a global scale.
  • Solid financial skills along with the ability to process large amounts of information.
  • Strong experience pricing large projects including RFPs, including consolidating costs, margins based on company guidelines, and finalise pricing quotes in complex pricing templates
  • Advanced MS Excel modeling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to solve complex problems quantitatively and develop clear, data-driven business recommendations.
  • Experience managing large volumes of concurrent pricing projects on a consistent basis and providing quality output.
  • Comfortable working in situations with imperfect information.
  • A team player, with the ability to work successfully with customers, both business and technical teams across the NTT organisation, as well as vendors and channel partners.
  • Willingness and ability to attend meetings and field communication outside of normal working hours to accommodate teams based internationally and meet customer deadlines, as needed.
