Equity Principal Investments Associate / Analyst positions support and lead the evaluation, execution, monitoring and exiting of equity principal investment transactions (that use Credit Suisse’s balance sheet), in close coordination with the Asia Financing Group (AFG).This role is very similar to working in Private Equity.Our portfolio has seen growth and the team is expanding, especially in China. The most applicable experience for this role would be Equity Research, Investment Banking and Capital Markets or Private Equity.
* Opportunity to support the evaluation, execution, monitoring and exiting of equity principal investment transactions (using Credit Suisse’s balance sheet), focused on our key UHNW Entrepreneur client ecosystem, spanning the Asia Pacific region
* Excellent opportunity and experience on the buy-side (investment) side of the industry, while remaining within a Global Investment Bank with the large network of opportunities
* The chance to develop a deep analysis skillset through performing complex pre-IPO valuations, financial modelling, competitive strategy analysis, credit, capital structure, financial returns and multi-tracked and multi-scenario investment exit analyses
* The opportunity to build and refine due diligence awareness: Conduct accounting, business, financial and regulatory due diligence, not only in investment evaluation but also in vigilantly monitoring the investment portfolio through monetization
* A strong communication environment whereby you will prepare and present materials such as investment memorandums and presentations for our internal Risk and Investment Committees at very senior levels
* Work closely with the seven current portfolio companies spanning China, India and Southeast Asia
* Fluency in both English and Mandarin is REQUIRED
* Experience within Corporate Finance in Investment Banking, Equity Research or Private Equity
o For banking backgrounds: ability to display a diversified portfolio of transaction experience throughout the capital structure, especially M&A. Advisory for growth and pre-IPO companies is a plus. M&A skills / experience are the most transferrable to this role if from a banking background
o For Research backgrounds: ability to display diversified experience with different types of valuation methods as well as robust research report drafting and production
* Acute analytical, quantitative and financial modelling skills
* Ability to form an independent view on analysis and communicate that view effectively
* Ability to analyse multi-dimensional problems and synthesize multi-track processes
* Ability to understand risk dynamics, protecting the firm’s capital but at the same time having vision for value appreciation and the value of that risk
* Excellent communications skills and ability to liaise at all levels
* Strong drive for performance with entrepreneurship qualities and demonstrating leadership capabilities
* Multi-tasking with strong attention to detail
* Positive ‘can do’ attitude and solid work ethic
* Ability to exercise good judgment working in a highly pressurized and time sensitive environment
