About this role
The Manager is responsible for driving and delivering customer lifecycle and procurement plan in BT’s B2B & Customer Solutions practice. This role drives and delivers customer bid and full life procurement plan, practice and policy that optimise value and risk throughout customer lifecycle. Partnering with customers, BT stakeholder community and suppliers, this role translates expectations into requirements, and representing Procurement’s value proposition and deliverables.
You'll have the following responsibilities
Accountable for driving and delivering the optimal commercial and supply solutions for customer bids / contracts, while maintaining customer lifecycle and procurement expertise of category strategy, supplier knowledge and product life cycles
Build and maintain customer lifecycle and procurement expertise including around sectors, customer contracts, category strategy, supplier knowledge and product life cycles
Deliver customer bid / contracts, procurement approach and plans, collaborating with global / regional category teams, stakeholder community and suppliers, leveraging best practice procurement approaches and commercial levers
Apply best practices around customer lifecycle procurement, including bid support, sourcing approach, commercial models and Total Cost of Ownership, project delivery and transitions
Provide input and support delivery of global / regional category strategy, policy and framework
Maintain partnership with internal and external stakeholders, deliver bid / contracts in a quality, cost and time effective way
Deliver customer bid / contract, the optimum commercial models and procurement / sourcing plan, ensure the flowing down of customer terms to 3rd parties and time-critical buying schedules meeting project provisions
Execute sourcing plans for bids and contracts in a quality, cost effective and timely manner, maximising commercial advantage
Aggregate and plan for sourcing of cross-category goods and services as part of ‘Portfolio’ purchasing for Resale
Develop and agree complex and unique BOQs and BOMs with local technical stakeholders/ specifiers in Industry vertical/ CFUs
Maintain category / industry vertical expertise around new technology, market dynamics, supplier strategies, commercial models, product life cycles and partner programmes; and support the implementation of category strategy
Manage relationships with customers /CUs/CFUs/Industry vertical, capture and align requirements, negotiate commercial and contractual arrangements, ensure solution delivery
Customer Solutions Manager’s role involves sourcing non-category specific add-ons for local offices
You'll have the following skills & experience
Competencies and Experience
5-7 years experience as a leader within the Procurement function, with strong leadership skills and the ability to lead, and deliver value
Strong experiences in Source to Contract process, able to understand complex customer requirements, and manage bids and contracts from requirement design to contract execution
Strong business expertise in customer solutions, portfolio purchasing and relevant categories, particularly around customer requirements, supplier capabilities, commercial models, product lifecycles and partner programmes required to deliver portfolio and customer requirements
Demonstrates a track record of decision making capability and deliver against key metrics
Strong relationship management skills & ability with stakeholders within a matrixed environment
Ability to manage complex, strategic and commercial requirements between BT and Suppliers, deliver projects and results on time and in full
Demonstrates strong continuous improvement skills that exceeds customer expectations
