The Procurement Manager is responsible for managing and ensuring the cost-effective purchase of all materials and services for office or site operations items, and ensuring compliance of staff to inventory management.

The role is tasked to monitor compliance in having adequate stock levels in the warehouse for ongoing and upcoming projects, deal with external couriers or parties in terms of keeping these stock levels adequate as well as following up or ask for the progress of items ordered and delivery schedules.

The role is also responsible for creating and implementing regional procurement strategies that are innovative and incorporate the growing complexities and challenges of the role. They are also expected to build long-term professional relationships with vendors, comparing proposals for price and specifications as well as negotiate with the same to reduce costs.

Job responsibilities include but aren't limited to:

  • Effectively guide in the canvassing and sourcing for the best quality value product from a reliable supplier or source
  • Successfully negotiate terms with vendors on the Company's behalf to reduce costs when necessary
  • Ensure that staff are ordering and tracking items needed or requested by different divisions effectively
  • Efficiently oversee international shipping & customs requirements
  • Efficiently turnover items received to the relevant division and ensure that they are added to existing inventory count
  • Manage technological systems that track the shipment, inventory and supply of materials
  • Efficiently communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Actively reviews reports received from staff on inventory and Immediately reports to Line Manager when there are discrepancies in the inventory
  • Oversees records of warehouse inventory withdrawals and arrivals, and that the items received are picked, unloaded, labeled, and stored in an orderly manner by staff
  • Effectively manage and communicate with line staff including feedback management, performance reviews, and disciplinary action when necessary
  • Lead transformational activities to build procurement organizational capabilities and improve procurement efficiency both in processes and team-wise

Qualifications required:

  • At least 4 years experience in a similar role
  • Proficient in verbal and written English
  • Computer-savvy and proficient in Google Suites at the minimum
  • Superb communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Problem solver with a strong analytical mindset
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Experience in multitasking and negotiating with external vendors
  • Analytical and can determine the best deals for the company, and have to evaluate the many pros and cons of each, based on price, quality, speed of delivery and other factors
  • Able to make sound decisions based on information gathered and items at hand
  • Experience with Purchasing & Inventory management software
  • Knowledge in contracts, invoicing, and customs requirements

Preferred:

  • Telecommunications inventory knowledge
  • International experience in a similar role

Working conditions:

  • Travel may be required to other locations depending on Company needs
  • Overtime may be required and shift schedule as determined by immediate lead
  • May be required to work nights or weekends depending on the arrival of stocks or shipping container
