We currently have a vacancy for a Procurement Officer.  You will work on diverse and exciting projects and shape the way we evolve, adapt and transform our industries. This opportunity will be an integral role within our Asset Services Division based in Perth.  The Procurement Officer will be supporting the Project team and will be an integral part of the success of the program.
As the Procurement Officer you will working in the Asset Services team based in Perth.  Your role will be to support the Procurement Manager assisting with all purchasing/procurement activities and tender/proposal evaluations.
About the Role:
  • Systems and processes knowledge supporting the administration of a variety of Purchase Orders / Contract types in a Project / Capital procurement function.
  • Evaluation of tender quotes
  • Understanding of project control and cost administration systems and processes.
  • Understanding of Accounts Payable / Receivable systems
  • Understanding the total Procure to Pay Process
  • Basic understanding of Inventory Control, Material receiving and POD’s
  • Preparation of variations orders.
  • Tender preparation and negotiations
  • Manage the full project lifecycle using best-practice methodology
  • Deliver our promise to the customer

  • Expediting deliverables to ensure schedule is maintained;
  • Providing appropriate feedback to site teams on status of goods and services being procured for the contract.
  • Development and maintenance of supplier contracts;
  • Assisting with contract management and performance measurement of suppliers;
  • Provide input into estimate on value of goods and services being procured for the contract
  • Placing orders for approved requisitions of goods and services in order to achieve fit for purpose and cost-effective outcomes;
  • Investigate and develop supply sources and obtain quotations.
  • Visit and inspect suppliers’ premises and operations and report on findings.
  • Purchase, under close management direction, material, equipment, machinery and supplies at the most favourable prices consistent with desired quality, quantity, delivery and other factors.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Cape’s operational schedules and related forward planning and expedite authorised purchases in accordance with policy and lead time requirements.
  • Ensure activities comply with government Acts and statutory regulations.
  • Contribute to cost reduction by ensuring minimum delays in providing essential items
  • Liaise with site and operational staff in relation to purchasing requests and keep them informed on technical details, price and availability.
About You
You will thrive on stepping up to a problem other couldn’t take on, or an opportunity that inspires new solutions. Ideally you will have:
  • 5 years relevant industry experience including 3 years purchasing experience.
  • Tender preparation and negotiation experience
  • Sound knowledge of procurement best-practice standards and their relevance to the project. 
  • SAP experience essential to the role
  • Oil and Gas background or previous experience working in an engineering or contracting environment is essential. 
  • Experience working within a multi-cultural workforce is preferred. 
  • Relevant experience in an industrial services organisation or mining/oil and gas sector
