We are looking for a passionate Product Designer to join our Product department and take part in building the future of homecare software. Delivering over 500,000 episodes of care per month across three continents, the applications we build will literally be in caregivers’ hands as they’re visiting clients in the places they call home.
We are revolutionizing the way home care is delivered. Our leading cloud-based software allows our clients around the world to manage their employees, scheduling, billing, and enable better delivery of care. We aim to be the operating system for our clients’ businesses, helping them and their employees improve clinical outcomes.
We are looking for talented and passionate individuals to join our purpose of enabling the care we want our loved ones to receive in the place they call home. We pride ourselves in our open and transparent culture, our diversity and being committed to a workplace where we all feel that we can be ourselves.
About the Role:
As one of two product designers responsible for the Back Office area, you will work closely with DesignOps, Product Management, and Engineering to support the design needs of three of the six Back Office scrum teams.
You will create wireframes, suggest UI patterns and UX improvements, and conduct user interviews and design research when necessitated by the project.
In this role, you will straddle the line between User Experience Design and User Interface Design, applying your knowledge of UX trends and best practices to the creation of workflows and interfaces that fit product specifications. You will balance user-centric design with the product roadmap and tight timelines, leveraging our custom design system to expedite your work.
In this role you will be:
Improving existing wireframes and workflows to optimize usability and use of reusable patterns, as well as the creation of wireframes and workflows for new features.
Following established guidelines, standards, and best practices to produce designs ranging from sketches to high-fidelity mockups using Balsamiq, Sketch, XD, and Axure.
Applying industry best practices in both UI and UX to design wireframes, mockups, and workflows with a focus on user experience.
Producing consistent and high-quality designs and design project documentation that answer the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
Prioritizing decisions and work based on set criteria and specifications defined by Senior Product Design and Product Management.
Working as part of an agile workflow using Jira and Confluence to document and track tasks and dependencies.
Contributing to the AlayaCare Design System and collaborating with product designers from other teams, as well as DesignOps to iterate on and improve existing designs and processes.
Participating in planning the Design System roadmap through the suggestion and preliminary design of new components to ensure Back Office needs are met.
Collaborating with the Documentation team to refine consistency across Back Office user interfaces.
Assisting with the production of functional specs, prototypes, user flows, and design process documentation on an as-needed basis.
Participating in usability testing, user research, user interviews, and analysis of quantitative insights when the product roadmap permits.
A designer with a strong portfolio demonstrating an understanding of user needs, logical flow, hierarchy, and essential design principles. This is an entry level position so while we use Balsamiq, Sketch, and Axure, we will consider anyone with a demonstrated ability with a combination of core design tools.
A driven self-starter who is excited about building relationships with Engineering, Product Marketing, and Product Management.
A critical thinker who always questions the why and enjoys the challenge of trying to standardize a complex system.
A passionate designer who is interested in the latest trends and can strike a balance between quality, speed, and the requirements of a B2B software.
An articulate communicator who can present and validate their designs while being open to the opinions of others.
Someone who can work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects on the go, who can produce pixel-perfect designs but understands the need for an MVP in agile, and who is comfortable with an iterative approach to design.
Nice to Haves:
3+ years of experience working directly with product and development teams.
A strong portfolio of client-driven projects that have shipped to market.
Experience designing large-scale projects with a variety of stakeholders.
A solid grasp of visual design and hierarchy, web constraints, interaction design, user experience design principles, and accessibility concepts and standards.
Expert knowledge of Sketch (essential), and Abstract (essential). We are also using Miro, Framer, Invision, Moqups, and Maze.
An understanding of Atomic Design and how it applies to naming conventions and the organization of nested components.
Experience facilitating activities to gather insights on user needs and goals and conducting usability testing.
Experience writing simple and clear design documentation for multiple audiences (designers, developers, product owners and other stakeholders).
An online portfolio that includes product design innovation. Must illustrate solving for multi-platform UX/UI challenges and demonstrate scalable, user-friendly design solutions.
Basic front-end development understanding (HTML, CSS, Vue) and experience contributing to code repositories for web or apps is a bonus!
