Danone is looking for a Product Development Manager to join R&I team based in our dairy factory located in the Albury-Wodonga Region, responsible for New Product Developments within business objectives: cost, quality and time.

We are looking for a Product Development Manager to join Danone’s R&I team based in our dairy factory located in the Albury-Wodonga Region, who can ensure new products developments within business objectives: cost, quality and time.

Responsible for new product developments, execution of trials (pilot and industrial), analysis, data collection and troubleshooting, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Bring product development expertise through own experience as well as from suppliers, to ensure successful and consumer-preferred products and compliance
  • Design pilot trials/prototyping, product tasting sessions, lead new formula developments in collaboration with Top Line team and lead industrialization tests.
  • Deliver projects against a Cost of Goods Target.
  • Participate in the development of some Danone products manufactured at third parties and productivity efforts though idea generation and implementation.
  • Accountable for the creation and maintenance of new raw material specifications & finished product.
  • Manage projects at different stages working with internal and external stakeholders following Danone Project management stage gate process.
  • Provide technical support to the factory to develop superior and constant products.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional partners to ensure the best product at the right cost and communicate the last trends in technology, equipment and ingredients.


As a R&I Product Development Manager, your NPD project management experience is key for success in this role, and an advantage would be experience in having worked in a dairy or FMCG manufacturing industry.

Ideally you will have:

  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in FMCG delivering R&I projects (NPD and renovation), Food Technology and Processing skills, dairy background
  • Relevant tertiary qualification, e.g. Higher Diploma in Food Technology, B Sc Degree in Food Science
  • Preferred to have background on packaging development projects.
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Excellent analytical, numeracy and communication skills.
