JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the PD Manager, the Product Development Assistant is responsible in supporting to manage the product development process for the category by working closely with the designers to develop each category from initial concept through to finished product.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Product Development Coordinator to work with design to support the process of material sourcing/development and prototyping for the category of products.
  • Assist in ordering raw materials for prototypes and samples and implementing the seasonal development critical paths.
  • Assist the Product Development Coordinator by communicating with relevant suppliers and assist with the daily follow up of prototyping and raw materials developments.
  • Assists in the creation of prototype and sample and manages the prototype and sample process in collaboration with Supply Chain, Merchandising and Vendors.
  • Accountable for assisting the Product Development Coordinator in the overall management of sampling technical packs, ensuring that the relevant pages and fields are loaded onto PLM (or any other alternative format).
  • Assists with general administration duties in the Product Development Department.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Experience of working within a product development team would be an advantage.
  • Highly computer literate, particularly in Word and Excel.
  • Experience of PLM/CIMS programmes would be an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Motivated by working in a highly pressurised environment.
  • Passionate about product design and development.
  • Ability to act quickly to last minute requests and changes.
