Responsibilities :

  • Lead development and enhancement strategies within the region (Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand & Vietnam) for Life, Medical, PA and Travel products to improve both long-term and short-term profitability and drive growth.  This will also include developing metrics and KPIs to monitor and continuously improve product performance
  • Provide strategic direction by facilitating fact based decision making processes across product pricing, underwriting, claims, operations and sales balancing sales, rate, loss trends, underwriting/risk exposure and market conditions to support growth and profitability in the A&H product lines.
  • Effectively collaborate with global teams to develop metrics and KPIs to monitor and continuously improve perforamce; ensure effective controls are also in place to proactively manage risk and remain in compliance with company procedures and policies.
  • Monitor all aspects of the product lines including analyzing new business, assessing cost of running business relative to premiums, comparing rate to the marketplace for competitiveness, analyzing claims frequency and severity, reviewing and approving all suggested changes to product features, conducting market analysis, providing input to pricing strategies, reinsurance management, reviewing vendor and partner programs.
  • Work with regional teams and maximize long-term growth opportunities  and provide technical training and support to the regional product teams.
  • Lead projects as assigned, on time and within budget, including cross team/multi-countries projects as required in relation to products & pricing.
  • Set up/liaise/co-ordinate the hospital facilities within the east region.
  • Responsible for staff management including job design and personnel assignments to ensure sufficient knowledge/skills to accomplish goals across the countries.  Build a long term manpower and succession planning as required.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal business partners to define the Strategies and Objectives for the A&H business vertical, identify and target new business and cross sell opportunities within A&H and P&C areas and monitor progress

  • Regularly monitors the A&H Insurance markets and our competitive position in the markets, as well as market trends and identifying areas of opportunity for expansion of existing and introduction of new products

Requirements :

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in product & pricing development in the insurance industry and at least 8 years focus on product management in Life Medical, PA and Travel products with a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economic or related disciplines
  • Knowledge in life product experience highly desirable
  • Significant medical knowledge and with exposure in hospital and clinic management
  • Ability to create a product and pricing strategies supported by an integrated operational plan with identified measures of success.
  • Demonstrated facilitation, project management, analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
  • Strong analytical background with strategic thinking capabilities, influencing skills, attention to detail and ability to effectuate change
  • Proven track record and solid experience in underwriting, risk management and portfolio management
  • Strong cultural sensitivity and inclusion
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English
