The Financial Services for Insurance Product Manager is responsible for managing the technology strategy for a portfolio of Insurance products, utilized across Operations. The role will leverage knowledge of domain and technology, working as a bridge between TfO teams and business stakeholders including Offering and Capability Leads, Client Account teams and Sales teams.

  • Develop a product strategy, product roadmap and year out release plans for Products used by Operations Service Delivery teams for Insurance customers
  • Demonstrate Insurance Domain Knowledge and leverage the same in roadmapping , building, strategizing software products for insurance and provide solutions to internal, external, green field customers.
  • Conduct market research to develop a market-wide understanding of Operations client and Service Delivery user challenges and requirements
  • Provide thought leadership and sales support, differentiating our competitive position while ensuring ongoing alignment with the global market, the industry and Operations programs
  • Work with stakeholders in Insurance Operations and TfO to determine business needs, requirements and priorities
  • Leverage tech partnerships and the wider Ecosystem to provide software products to meet Insurance Operations’ needs, utilizing the new product enablement framework
  • Drive self-service product information by developing and enhancing presentations, positioning and demonstrations, targeting multiple stakeholders
  • Apply Product Management Principles to execute Product Development, Enhancement, Marketability, Saleability, Sustenance Strategy

Following methodologies and the Pragmatic Institute framework, the goals will be achieved leveraging global network, working together and openly sharing ideas, knowledge and resources.

  • Strategize and Focus

oDevelop the Product vision and Positioning

oCreate alignment with Insurance Offering strategy to ensure roadmaps reflect these priorities

oEnsure there is a crisp and compelling Value Proposition in place, including applicable references to Insurance Operations offerings and expertise

oConduct market research to develop a market-wide understanding of comparable vendor products

oIdentify disruptions in the industry that are causing customers to spend in this space

oAssess new technology shifts and industry direction and propose alignment

oOptimize impact of software strategy across the broader ecosystem

oCovert Product Strategies to Business Plans for execution involving Profitability

oAsses the Current landscape of Tools and Products for the group and recommend buy, build or Partnership possibilities as per corporate or strategic fitment

  • Execute and Build

oWork with stakeholders in Insurance Operations and TfO to determine business needs, requirements and priorities

oLiaise with key sales, mobilization, and delivery representatives to ensure during the sales processes we are soliciting feedback and identifying enhancements that ensure market relevancy and investment case achievement

oOversee periodic refresh of Products based on the Product Roadmap, to ensure they capture recent engagement learning and innovation from across Operations /

oBuild User and Buyer Personas and socialize with the teams to enable implementation

oReview product backlogs and guide Product Owners to ensure requirements are prioritized based on business/market evidence

oDetermine, elaborate, drive value out of planned product releases for personas and market with the available timelines and resources

oEnsure proper integration of relevant products or assets across Operations

oEnsure IP protection(s) are in place (working with our IP counsel and Global Services (AGS) to protect and patent our unique and differentiated IP and assets

  • Market and Compete

oCarve out distinctive competencies or USP of the product to ensure marketability

oAchieve brand and product recognition in Insurance Operations

oDevelop Cost Models and Pricing Packages to compete with other internal and external products in Insurance Space

oWork with Marketing to ensure appropriate branding and GTM strategies

oEngage with Customers, Potentials, Evaluators for pilots, POCs, Evaluations or Refresh of the Product versions

oIdentify and Evaluate Opportunities as per the Product Positioning

oAlign Market Problems with Features and Benefits/Outcomes of the features and prioritize accordingly

oAnalyse and Record User/Customer/Client Experience of the products and create Feedback Loops into Product Backlog

  • Worked in Agile Methodology and conversant with quirks as well as positives of Agile
  • Experience in launching/acquiring new products/offerings/creating solutions, in Insurance domain and sub domains namely Individual , P&C, Employee Benefits, Retirement Services.
  • Expert in executive presentations, client orals, and online presentations targeting multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in building Collaterals, Product Management Artefacts for supporting Sales, Marketing to increase the Marketability of Insurance Products and Solutions
  • Worked in End to End PDD in any or multiple roles as a Product Manager, Product Owner, Solutions Architect, Marketing Manager, Development Manager, Quality Manager, Support Manager or Transformation Manager
  • Experience influencing indirect associates/Vendors/Suppliers for operational success
  • Possess Financial modelling skills and able to articulate and convince Sponsors on the Return on Investment on the product roadmap
  • Excellent demonstrable Oral and Written communication skills and a Functional and Technical knack to be able to brainstorm and articulate to senior level Insurance executives as well as customers and vendors
  • Hands on technology implementation experience as business analyst / architect
  • Familiarity with TfO core technology solutions and functions
  • Ability to create detailed and succinct presentations with supporting documentation to detail the strategy, and communicate to both technology and account management
  • Certifications or Credentials supporting Product Management, Marketing
  • 8+ years of Core Insurance / Business Analysis experience, managing complex solution projects
  • 4+ Years of Experience as a Product Manager/Product Owner
  • Previous experience working with off-shore teams
  • Experience at working with client and account leads
  • Preferred experience working with Operations and supporting technology teams (e.g. delivery factories, sales teams, TSDMs etc.)
