ABOUT THE ROLE
Join our Just Jeans Buying team as a Product Manager in our Branded Denim department. This role is responsible for leading the Denim Branded business across both Australia and New Zealand, in store & on line. Reporting to the GGM, you will work closely with each supply partner to deliver a commercial range of products suitable for the Just Jeans target customer. This role is fully accountable for sales & profit growth.
Create a seasonal buying strategy by market, by channel
In collaboration with Merchandise Planner, build option plans by brand, by market, by channel to deliver department sales & profit budgets. This includes ensuring Key Volume Lines are never out of stock
Working with each brand partner, select, range & quantify products by market, by channel
Create a weekly promotional plan, by brand, by market, by channel
Regularly measure performance against plan [daily, weekly & monthly] and determine actions necessary to maximise results
Using data to identify emerging trends, you will review and evolve the department buying strategy accordingly
Build relationships with key supply partners to ensure that all possible commercial opportunities are maximised. This includes negotiation of rebates, exclusive product & price points
Conduct weekly competitor reviews and track promotional activity for each major competitor and determine opportunities to grow market share
Work with retail operations to determine the seasonal product knowledge/training requirements necessary to drive sales. This includes brand range books and an annual brand conference.
Engage with the broader Just Jeans team (VM, Marketing, On, line etc.) to ensure the branded range is effectively communicated through all channels & markets
Be able to develop strong working relationships with store teams
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 5 years range buying experience with a proven record in delivering results
Exceptional negotiation & communication skills
Highly developed strategic planning capabilities & a solid critical path manager
Proven leadership skills
Previous experience in dealing with a broad range of suppliers
Proactive and self-motivated
Able to work in a fast paced team environment and able to meet deadlines
Technical knowledge of denim advantageous
