What You Will Do

Product excellence is at the heart of our success.  Achieving a leadership position in the marketplace requires innovative thinking and the ability to inspire all product creation shareholders.  Product Managers are responsible for overseeing the product creation process from concept through commercialization.  This position is focused on creating product for key account exclusives within the America’s region.   Armed with a strong point of view they are charged with ownership of assigned marketplace, execution of business plans, sales and margin accountability, calendar adherence, and cross functional leadership.   With expert level thinking and insight, the Product Manager will own relevant information on consumer and the competitive landscape.   They will also assists the Product Director in identifying trends, product, price point, and sales opportunities, business strategy plans and analysis.  This role is the consumer, market, and storytelling expert on the team armed with strong presentation skills. 

How You Will Make A Difference

  • Manages assigned product lines and leads assigned lines in product concept, design, and development process.  Owns business and assists in enhancing category growth.
  • Works with the cross functional team to create and manage the seasonal product development calendar for Key Account Exclusives.
  • Partners with North America Merchandising team to execute seasonal product briefs for key account exclusive.
  • Understands product creation and manufacturing process and capabilities.  Partners with Global Sourcing team to ensure all product is created and hits The North Face standards.
  • Able to build product with material and feature set commensurate to required target MSRP’s and margin targets by category.
  • Presents product information to key internal teams in a comprehensive, clear and tactical manner.   Comes armed with research, data points and preparedness on category lines.  Strategically actions feedback to improve product.
  • Understands sales, margin, turn, and merchandising requirements of buyers and can digest and analyze data from sell-through reports.
  • Actively participates in product development cycle including identifying potential issues, solutions for process challenges and to execute sample/prototype production.  
  • Builds and maintains intradepartmental relationships with all cross functional teams. 
  • Partners with Merchandising and General Managers to execute seasonal strategies.
  • Manages, distributes and maintains all information of assigned product category, line lists, visual line plans and CAD templates.
  • Examines, reports and tracks success and failure of the company's products in the marketplace, and determines reasons for success or failure.

What You Bring

Years of Related Professional Experience: 5+

Educational/Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in apparel, operations, business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrable successes in managing an apparel product with cross category product experience.


  • Must be detail oriented but able to present the big picture.
  • Effective in leading a cross functional team of designers, developers, and merchandisers. Influential in building positive partnerships with cross functional teams.
  • Strong leadership, change management, and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of apparel construction, manufacturing processes, materials/fabrics.
