Position Description

Support the Sr. Product Merchandise Manager to deliver mid-to-long term product strategies, seasonal requirements/market needs and sustainable, profitable growth.

Work closely with the Senior Manager to maximize the business return (ROI) for the brand in terms of sales growth, margin & overall profit.

Learn to build a world-class product line that is consumer relevant and reflects the international opportunities alongside corporate business objectives. Provide global market insights, including competition analysis on a seasonal basis and identify category-related patterns and trends across all aspects of the product category. Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Manager with all associated documents and systems to run business (e.g. PLM system, sell - in overviews, market collection preparation etc.) 
  • Responsible for SPW WMN flip flop / home slipper category
  • Creation of detailed SPW WMN flip flop / home slipper category brief incorporating consumer and trend insight, competitor benchmarking, target RRP
  • Work with design and product development teams to ensure products are delivered in line with category briefs 
  • Be the commercial voice in decision making
  • Provide a balanced offering across commercial / fashion / image (essential/seasonal/fashion segments)
  • Provide global market knowledge and consumer insight to ensure a customer-focused range 
  • Management of own categories with support of Senior Merchandiser, in particular revenue growth, profit, units, SKU management against the plan and price architecture. Ensure the business is focused towards achieving targets and structured planning. Plus all associated documents and systems 
  • Build relationships with other stakeholder functional teams: Buying & Planning / Supply Chain / Central Merchandising / Sales / Womenswear team. Providing key product and seasonal direction, plus working to improve best practice and process improvement 
  • Support in seasonal meetings e.g. Market collection review / market launch

Position Requirements

  • Understand basic FOOTWEAR construction 
  • Able to support and ultimately manage key meetings 
  • Good analytical skills and understanding of range planning 
  • Ability to work well independently, within a team and cross functionally 
  • Self-motivator, good organization skills, can work under pressure to multiple deadlines 
  • Problem solving ability and solution minded 
  • A passion for product, range management and a global market awareness
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to grow sales
  • Collecting set up with a cost minded approach to range planning
  • Good Presentation Skills 
  • Develop communication skills across audiences, other functions and varying position levels 
  • Education: Higher (Textile / Fashion / Business) education 
  • Minimum 1 years of work experience preferably in an international products environment

Personal Qualities

  • Excellent English communication written and verbal 
  • Able to work and communicate well with people from different countries and varying business levels 
  • Excellent Excel and Power point skills 

Conditions

  • Living in the surroundings of Amsterdam or willing to relocate to the Netherlands. 
  • Able to travel abroad for work (Europe, Asia, US)
