Short Description: An influential leadership role in agile structure, the Product Management Product Owner, sets the vision for the future of a new customer product, service or experience aligned to the Group’s strategic direction. You maximize the value the product delivers to customers and the business and inspire and empower the mission team to achieve ambitious but realistic objectives.
The Product Management Product Owner works with the Group Owner to develop Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and uses broad organizational and domain knowledge to describe the Epics that set the objective and direction for the work within a mission.
Good knowledge on Telecom domain (preferably in Telecom Infraco)
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Using domain expertise, you develop the vision for a customer product, service or experience and plan how to maximize the value delivered to customers and the business. Product areas include product capabilities, customer benefits and business impact • Contribute to in year planning at the Group and Function level to inform the OKR’s • Leverage planning expertise to translate strategic OKR’s into Epics, resource requests and dependencies for each quarter • Take accountability for the full product lifecycle from design, development, launch, embed, support and measure. Maintain alignment of the product with group and organizational objectives and provide guidance to others on decision making related to the product • Engage and align mission team members and stakeholders around the product vision communicating in clear and simple terms • Create abundance of clarity for mission team members, by ensuring team member’s objectives align to what they are expected to deliver, and as a servant leader empower and support the team to execute on priorities and achieve outstanding results • Encourage innovation and problem solving by coaching the mission team to assess problems from various perspectives using human centered design methodologies • Significantly contribute to the design of innovative product strategies and roadmaps that enable Telstra to differentiate from competitors and create sustainable high-performance customer service improvements • Authentically engage with key stakeholders across the value chain, to design superior customer products, services and experiences that drive growth and profitability across multiple product portfolios and segments • Lead engagement with customers to gather insights around product pain points or compelling opportunities, and translate insights into product improvements that deliver greater business and customer value • Leverage your deep commercial acumen and experience in product economics to identify new and emerging opportunities, to accelerate and address gaps in the end-to-end product portfolio • Maintain knowledge of market trends through active thought leadership, and share expertise with other Telstra product teams to inform and iterate their strategy, direction and modular product design • Apply your critical thinking and complex problem-solving abilities to evaluate key impediments to the evolution of the product portfolio, and resolve impediments by working collaboratively with team members • Maintain clarity and focus of the team each sprint by prioritizing the Product Backlog according to business value, metrics and customer desires. Negotiate with stakeholders to prioritize work and where required, remove lower priority work from the backlog. • Identify and anticipate challenges that may impact the success of the team. Mitigate risks and impediments impacting the team's ability to complete sprint goals • Removes barriers for team members and asks, “how can I help?”. • Leverage strong relationships to understand, collaborate and influence the vision and objectives of other Product Owners and leaders. • Support Chapter Leads by providing feedback to them on how their chapter members are delivering on their mission, meeting their objectives and showing up as a team member. Partner with Chapter Leads to support development actions for team members by providing appropriate mission work opportunities. • Empower and motivate the team to experiment and incubate new products and services, to drive improvements in product capabilities, customer benefits and business impact. Role model willingness to fail fast and the ability to reflect on feedback and learn. • Contribute to the Product Management Chapter Area through domain expertise and by forming strong relationships across multi-disciplinary groups and leading Chapter initiatives.
