Powering this work is an engineering system that uses machine learning, cloud services and the gig economy to produce and deploy high quality translations at scale.

The LaaS Core Software & Content Pipeline Team is looking to hire a Program Manager to help us drive the future of our engineering system as we step up to greater cross-Microsoft responsibilities. We are on a mission to modernise how Microsoft delivers to the world, and this role is an exciting opportunity to shape the path forward.

Excellent collaboration skills are required as the scope of this role spans multiple disciplines and organizations across Microsoft. The successful candidate must excel at determining high-value requirements, defining end-to-end scenarios, driving alignment across stakeholders and assuming accountability for feature delivery. Ultimately, this work impacts 100s of millions of customers who choose to use our products in their native language, and the efficiency/quality of how we deliver these experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Drive planning rigor while partnering closely with internal stakeholders to crisply define requirements, write feature specs, prioritize end-to-end scenarios and successfully execute on the plans
  • Develop and provide subject matter expertise on our engineering system, and how in interplays with our evolving business model:
    • Cultivate highly productive partnerships with other Program Managers, ensuring the holistic engineering system design is aligned with our shared direction
    • Partner with the Global Service team, within LaaS, to ensure symbiotic evolution of our systems & business approach
    • Work with customer teams across Microsoft on specific requirements for the engineering system
  • Provide design and technical oversight of scenario implementations for key engineering system scenarios, in conjunction with our software development engineers.
