Smart Wires is currently looking for a full-time (6 month contract) Project Manager, based in El Salvador, to support our Project Delivery team.

THE POSITION – Project Manager

We are looking to add a remarkably talented Project Manager to our organization. You can be fresh out of university or have up to five years’ experience. In Smart Wires your days will never be routine, with a diverse mix of work streams to support our Project Delivery team. The dynamic candidate we seek will be very sharp, strategic, organized, detail-oriented, flexible, creative, serious, committed, and passionate about their work. The ideal candidate possesses superior communication skills, is a strong team player who enjoys working with all levels of staff, and is prepared to roll their sleeves up and dig in on a new task every day. Some of the tasks you will tackle will include:

Draft and coordinate technical documentation to support Project Delivery internationally. Using your superior ability to understand customer needs and technical specifications, you will ensure that key deliverables are accurate and delivered on time.

  • Manage key project deliverables and streamline processesbased on business and production data. Using your sound decision-making, excellent written and oral communication capabilities, and great organization skills, you will help out on a variety of critical projects and keep us organized as we juggle many more projects than other companies our size.
  • Support project financial forecasts and schedules. You will provide data and insight that helps our Senior Project Managers to create and maintain accurate project schedules and forecasts and work with the team to provide accuracy in reporting.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our products and solutions. Don’t worry, we’re not expecting you to be able to reverse engineer them, but you should develop a thorough understanding of our solutions that enables you to communicate about them internally and more importantly externally.
  • Manage project team schedules. Manage schedules and assist meeting preparation for Senior Project Managers. Ensure meeting summaries and clear action items are communicated, tracked, and resolved.
  • Act as an ownerwhen projects are assigned and have the courage to seek guidance and have thoughtful check-ins to ensure the task is on track with overall strategy. Manage project-related paperwork by ensuring all necessary materials are current, properly filed and stored.
  • Provide administrative support as needed.
  • Undertake project tasks as required.

Bachelor’s degree, ideally in electrical engineering or power control systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • High Voltage (HV) electric utility experience (as an engineer, project analyst, project manager, or construction)
  • Technical writing experience
  • Is an excellent communicator with fantastic interpersonal and customer service skills both with internal and external stake holders
  • Has the ability to work efficiently and comfortably handling multiple projects and tasks concurrently
  • Possesses strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to manage time appropriately and meet deadlines
  • Can work effectively with a variety of different people at all levels
  • Understands the value of learning from bright and passionate coworkers and supervisors that are committed to rapid professional development
  • Bonus, but not a requirement, proficient in a second language (Spanish, Polish, Swedish etc.)
  • Is determined to make a positive, long-lasting impact on climate change
