Manager Software Project Management

Position summary
Be the dynamic leader and inspirer for a team of junior and experienced Technical Project Managers and Requirement Engineers who lead automotive projects involving a variety of leading edge natural language and AI technologies. As the manager of this team, provide leadership and direction for employee development and project management tasks, and drive the team to delivering innovative solutions and customer success. He/she contributes to the project management process and checks it regularly.


Principal duties and responsibilities

Providing guidance and expertise to project managers on project management tasks like project setup, planning and execution

Conducting project, project planning and budget/revenue reviews

Risk analysis and management

Providing guidance to requirements and error managers

Works closely with corresponding team leaders to help establish labor & schedule estimates, support resolution of issues, etc.

Provide diligent internal reports on project status and revenue tracking

Contribute to research and technology agendas by providing input from customers and trends observed in customer projects

Provide mentoring, coaching and direction to team members

Perform regularly performance reviews and goal settings for team members

Estimate new work and support Sales team to ensure accuracy of estimates and viability of proposed technical solutions

Perform tasks related to securing and keeping the products, tools, and processes that you are responsible for securing

Build and manage the local project manager team

Provide guidance and expertise, educate new team members

Work together with project management teams and project management office in other locations

Knowledge, skills, and qualifications
Education: Study of computer science/ information technology
Minimum years of work experience: 10

Required skills

Customer-facing experience managing the full life cycle of complex embedded technology projects

Proven skills in working directly with customers

Proven risk management and problem-solving skills

Ability to work with a minimum of direct supervision

Demonstrated leadership talent to provide direction, motivation and insights to the team members

Experience in team leadership and management

Dynamic personality and flexible attitude

Ability and willingness to handle occasional peak demands

Ability and willingness to travel for short trips.

Preferred skills

Programming skills (C,C++, script languages) are an advantage

Experience with Automotive SPICE

Experience with embedded software development is a strong plus
