An exciting opportunity has become available in our Technology, Data and Digital (TDD) division for a Project Manager.

In this role, you will be an integral part of the dynamic, highly motivated Strategy & Portfolio Management Team that supports the delivery of technology and digital initiatives across News Corp Australia.

You will be responsible for the successful delivery of key projects in the TDD portfolio. You will plan, execute, and deliver projects on time, to budget, and within scope in accordance with business priorities. Throughout the lifecycle of each project, you will track project status and manage project teams to mitigate issues and risks.

What’s the role?

In this role, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Defining project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
  • Creating and executing project plans and evaluating trade-offs between project size and complexity, cost, urgency, risk, and stakeholder value
  • Partnering with business sponsors to define success metrics and criteria
  • Ensuring all projects adhere to the project governance framework
  • Defining and tracking project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan
  • Ensuring projects meet success parameters and ROI targets stated in the business case
  • Planning and managing the business change associated with technology projects, working with business stakeholders to understand and mitigate business impacts
  • Managing vendor relationships
  • Providing leadership and direction of technical teams (including solution architects, developers and testers)

Who are you?

  • You are a highly motivated self-starter with experience delivering technology and digital projects in a dynamic environment.
  • You have a thorough understanding of technology concepts, project management principles and effective reporting.
  • You also have strong verbal and written communication skills and you use tools to discover and communicate key insights into meaningful and visual reports.
  • You build strong and positive relationships across teams and with stakeholders at all levels; and you are a strong influencer who drives action.
  • Business analyst and PMO experience is also desirable.
